Thread: BER 10 possible on other installations than minerals possible?
Hi,
dont know if it was the hotfix today, however, I tried to make a Medium Flora Farm. I got BER 9 as the maximum. Problem here is, I use a BER 4 Harvesting Mechanism and got the Harvester up to 92%.
I dont have the Material to get up to 93%, cause i hit the end of the material. Has anybody ever made a BER 10 Flora or Chem or Gas Harvester of Medium Size?
Thank you.

Also on the harvester mechanism, I got it exp up to 95%, not just enough to get 4 BER. I am believer that there is a hidden decimal part after the displayed 4 that helps get to 10 BER at end easier. I get to 10 BER on final harvester long before I run out of exp points.
Hi,
well, thanks. BER 10 Gas is no problem, made them. but still no BER 10 Flora. I have everything above 90% and i am unable to get BER 10. Even with a 90% BER 4 Harvesting Mechanism.
Any Ideas?

Forgot something,
how high did you need to go to get BER 10on flora? Well, I hit 92% and still got BER 9, how high do i need to go?

I made two florals, both 96% iirc, they both hit 10.

I'd have to check again to be sure when it switched over...
One thing I do remember, I have great metal... but only pretty good fiberplast. So when I make the harvester mech for the flora it is lower % than I get for light ore mining unit (since it is all metal... or most anyway.... not looking at recipe). I get 95% on the ore mining and like 90-92% on harvester mech. Also the fiberplast doesnt have a HR... so I think we lose the potential 25% of that as well.
I find it easier to get 10 BER on mineral than flora (mineral I got 4 out of 6... flora I got 4 out of 10). May just be random bad luck. *shrug*
Either way, it is definately possible to get 10 BER.
Hi,
well, I would consider this a Bug.
I made a 10 BER Harvester, and here is how:
I justused slightly better material for the harvesting mechanism. The strange thing is, I ended up at 90%, like with the other Materials, but this one hat a higher UT (944 and 990) and the others had more of an overall good value (UT 944 and 894). Well the first one with 90% Efficiency and BER lead to a BER 9 Harvester after 10 points of experimentation. The other one Lead to a BER 10 Harvester after 9 points of Experimentation. The first one showed 25% experimentation potential, the good one 26%. All of the successes were great or better, but that should not matter cause 90% was the maximum that could have reached.
Putting all this together I think something is wrong here. 90% should always lead to the same results on the end-product, and should not have additional hidden attributes.
In this case, I was able to get two significant different Harvesters out of two 90% Harvesting Mechanisms.
Would be great to at least get a comment if this is how its supposed to be.
Archangel, could you pls try that?

1) It doesnt count against you if the resource you're using doesnt have a specified stat. For example, I made a 98% Fluidic pump last night using lubricating oil(has none of the stats)and exceptional steel.
2) I think the storage size on the final combine contributes to the extraction rate, although it really shouldnt. I've seen several threads of people discussing how their BER 10 dropped to a BER 9 after a failure when experimenting on the hopper size. Try using a material that has better stats forhopper size, so that you get a higher % storage on the initial combine.

That is where you make your mistake.
Don't use fiberplast.
Use a chemical with no UT/SR/HR.
Class liquid petro or lubricating oil is a good choice....
