Hi all. This is a random idea and not sure if it has been presented before, nor am I aware of the diffilculties of coding this information. With that said..
How about lootable storage modules to increase storage capacity for buildings. When the module(s) is found the Archi in question uses the Structure management tool to get to the radial. In that radial an option to "Modify Structure" will appear. Each building would be able to take modules ONLY for that style building/factory. The size addition will be based on the RNG in accordance with lvl of mob.. so a Sister Elder could drop a storage module of 75 units. While a Meatlump could drop oneof 5 units. Each house can only take ONE storage module at one time... but the module cans be upgraded with a larger size module. The current module installed into the house will be destroyed during the upgrade.
After the module is installed into the house it becomes and accessible container INSIDE the structure.
Maybe this could work as a dropped schematic rather than flat out loot.
Well? Whatcha all think ?

I like the idea only in the aspect of it would be a house upgrade. I wish something like this would have been in the game from the start though.
JTL looks like you will buy a ship that is nothing more than a shell with maybe some very basic weapons and armor. You then buy upgrades to make your ship better. I wish the same would have or will be applied to other structures. Some of these can easily be used up. For factories, it would be some sort of assembly line improvement. After x amount of items is made, another has to be inserted in. Houses I'm not sure, but something like a lighting system would be nice. Instead of replacing all the candles and lights, you just replace some powersupply that all of them draw from. All of these would have to be very easy to use and not add to the difficulty of crafting or living in a house. It should be perfectly viable to use the base product. Just that these upgrades help if you want to put in a small amoutn more effort and resources.
While I like the idea of more storage, I really don't expect anything do be done. IMO the devs are still actively trying to reduce the amount of storeage a person has, they just haven't come up with anything recently that wouldn't annoy the players much.

I thinkhouses (and all structures)are made as cookie-cutters (like gingerbread ppl) and (and I'll guess - since I'm not a programmer) that's what also helps the load/storage on the database.
If it now had to find cookie-cutterA and link it to module B or C or D for every single house on a sever (and don't forget the cross servers)- we'll it just might add some additonal (or unnecessary) load on a database.
Secondly, although I've even considered a stucture such as a warehouse myself, I'm NOT convinced storage is such a hugeissue.
I'm convinced, the game mechanics has some set values (caps)for the "average" player.

yea i mentioned something similar in another thread.
A new Arch crafted piece of furniture that took up house space (based on quality and experimentation) and had its own internal storage, seperate from the house (also based on quality and experimentation). This way you can only have so many in a house but you can increase the storage of the house.
What would you call this item? a cabinet.
