Hey there. I'm going CM with my new toon (to heal and help with pve raids, /gasp!) and was wondering if some experienced folks would be kind enough to suggest what I should stock up on to make my goodies. Ok, that was a run-on sentence, sorry. I'm not asking for every resource needed for every schem, but I'd like to start stocking up on stuff required for adv components while I'm grinding the combat xp for novice. Thx in advance!

Thanks

Lots of different gasses, though concetrate a lot on reactive gases, and chemicals, fiberplast and inert are what to look for. Metals, mostly copper and steel, with aluminum in ocassionally. Ores will vary, I forget off hand which one is the most used, I think sedimentary is tops.

Well best bet is to make a list of items you intend to make, then write down what each item requires. After that make a list on what it will take to make 10-50-200-1000 of each and go from there. Without knowing what you plan to make its hard to say.
For buildings and harvesters:
ore any quality for walls. To make 1000 walls you will need 2 mill+ ore.
grind metal fany quality or walls-to make 1000 walls you will need 500k+ grind metal
For compnents ( not needing exp):
Alum
Copper
Steel
Reactive gas
Inert Gas
Grind metal ( iron, steel, copper, etc)
For compnents you need to exp on:
UT+SR+HR = 900+ in these three stats
Steel
Ore
Gas ( quality doesnt matter)
Iron
Final assembly:
Steel/Iron High UT+SR+HR above 900
Ore High UT+SR+HR above 900
Lube Oil Stats do not matter
For furniture:
Metal ( steel, iron, etc.......)
Copper
Alum
Ore
Wood
Synthetic cloth
Lot s Hide ( wooly is needed for many items, rest you can use any you want)
Also you will need many special resources - use crafting tool to decide what is needed and how much for your business.
Sorry i cant explain more-- tim to go to work :\
50% ore
15% grind metal alum/copper/etc........
15% chem/gas
20% top quality steel/iron/etc......
roughly

Thank you for your help. fortunately after finishing up 6 months of Weaponsmithing, I still have way too many of certain resources. I wasn;t sure which ones to sell off and which to hold onto. I jsut wish I could look at all the ingredients so I could start to stock up now.

Most ofthe structures Architects make are composed of WALLS and walls are composed of STRUCURAL MODS and both use crap ore and steel (or other metal copper), so if you got any ore, just combine whatever other crap you got and make some structural mods and then walls.
I'd say, the ratio is about 70% crap ore 20% crap steel and 10% other type of crap (gas, alum, petro). Lots and lots of crap ore.....
As for the good stuff, you'll need some fantabulous steel and ore for harvesters but mostly steel if just focusing on Heavy Mineral Extractors.
But it's safe to stock up on crap ore (and carbonite ore) and crap steel.

The FAQ also has a section which sets out which resources are needed for making architect craftableitems

This is my normal stockpile on hand for running my arch biz
Craptastic Steel/Iron -- 500k+
Craptastic Low grade ore -- 1-2 million
Craptastic Reactive Gas -- 250k {used to make generator tubines}
High UT Steel -- 200k
High UT Carb Ore -- 200k
High UT Fiberplast {any chem might work i forget} -- 200k
High Conductivity Copper (for making crafting stations) 200k
High OQ - Inert Gas -- 100k
There are specific types of copper, extrusive ore and aluminum that you will need to make the master arch furniture. I think....they are Thallium Copper, Pholovite Extrusive Ore, Titanium Aluminum -- though I may be wrong. I forget the specifics atm. You will also need droid storage compartments from a DE and synthetic cloth from a Tailor.
If you want to be one of the bigger Archs on your server you will need to multiply those numbers by one or two times in order to compete with the biggest manufacturers out there.
I always have around 1000 structural mods in storage. They act as my strategic reserve should I run out of them an Ore shortage.
For making furiture -- You need craptastic materials.
You will need 50k Wooly if you want to make lots of bananna couches, and blue sofa chairs and beds.
You will burn through the hides if you make lots of couches and loveseats and ottomans. I keep 50k or so leathery hide around.
You will use aluminum, copper and some steel to make the other furniture. keeping a stashof 100k of each for your furniture biz will help.
You will need a stack of wood for the plants and the wooden chairs. I keep 20k or so in stock. It lasts a long while.
One thiing ot consider when running factory runs of components. Make a lot of them. Make 1000's of structural mods so that you can factory produce walls quickly. Make 100's of small and large structural storage modules. you will use many many many of them when making harvs. Make 100's of turbines. You will need many of them as well.
I hate running out of identical components when I am online to craft so I keep a house loaded to the gills with my component parts and another house loaded with resources. Thankfully, I have multiple accts to handle my storage needs.
If you happen to pick up master artisan along the way (which i recommend) you will need to have some HIGH OQ copper, steel, ore, chem on hand to make the electronic components as well as decent weapon power ups.
Please excuse the brain dump, but I figured I would pass along what advice I had to give.
Cheers!

"Craptastic Low grade ore -- 1-2 million"
hehe i was gonna make a joke about needing millions of ore, but it's no joke!
