Brekkee - *neinnunb* With the recent news about Armorsmiths being able to craft faction armor, are there any plans to have Architects craft factional bases in the same manner any time in the future?
Lord_Pall - Long term we want to allow the crafters more methods to interact with the GCW, but right now this is not planned.

I was going over this chat after it happened, and it seems like you are going to have to pick sides, it's going to be hard to be neutral in this game anymore but I like that, and I like the fact that they have things like this planned.
I have a BH alt that runs around overt sometimes and I noticed that the harvesters and factories of rebels are "RED" to me when I am overt, wouldnt it be wild if you could destroy harvesters of "Overt" people, not factories, but just harvesters, talk about some repeat business

LOL Repeat business sure - but can you imagine having 30 harvesters be destroyed after sitting on a 90% spawn of some uber steel or something after being there for 3 days? I dont think I could cry enough at that loss. lol.

I dunno about that. It'd be too easy to grief.

If you think people are complaining now that Factories are poofing for no reason, just imagine what they'd do if their stuff could be destroyed by other players. While it would be fun, just way to easy to grief people.

Frell. What kind of scruffly looking nerf-herders do they have up there anyway? DO ANY OF THEM CRAFT AT ALL????????
The GCW correspondent favors it. The Architect correspondent favors it. I sorta suspect the Merchant correspondent favors it (heh). Uniquely, i've never seen a post AGAINST it. (which may just indicate no one thinks about it, heh.)
So what is SOE's problem??? What is it they hate about Enchanters in EQ and Architects here? (well, I know what they hate about Enc's, but Archies? Be serious.)

Follow-up: Just sent the following feedback. Guys (and gals), I think it's high time we started banging the pots and pans. We have been quiet and patient LONG ENOUGH.
===================================================================================
This is outrageous. We have been WAITING for months and months and months... WHEN ARE WE GOING TO GET SOMETHING ALLOWING REPEAT BUSINESS???

Let me re-emphasize the words that are sending me postal here: "this is not planned."
In other words YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE ANYTHING IN CONCEPT!!!! Just a vague, "we'd like to..."
That's just criminal, considering what this class has been through.
We are SICK and TIRED of "long term!" Get off your asses and give us SOMETHING, and I mean worthwhile! Every change you've made to the economy in the last several months has been detrimental to us. At best, we can expect a short term spike if/when you delete dead accounts (and at the same time, we'll be hurting for supplies, since a lot of our harvs will undoubtedly disappear also.)
I'm really, really, really ticked off about this "long-term, we want." Dammit, we have waited and waited and waited. DE got their day, all the combat classes plus AS and WS will be addressed by the CU. Docs & CM will undoubtedly get something from the HAM revamp.
Do you realize how bad it is getting? I sometimes get multiple guild inquiries in a night. Guilds with cities are getting to the point of offering lots as enticements... nice from my p.o.v. but how is a new archi going to compete against someone who has 100 lots from guildmates and cross server trades? Not easy, as I'm finding.
For crying out loud have someone, and I don't mean a no-authority dev, but someone in CHARGE take a long look at the architect profession from the INSIDE and see how many detrimental changes have been made. "Oh you have the resource kits now." Yeah, which we have to PAY combat classes through the nose to get parts for! Ditto for the special schematics.. oh but they are one use--so the combat classes get one and then expect us to drop everything and assemble it for them for jack all. Maybe they're a guildmate--but more likely (especially in my case) they're just some stranger off the street. Bah.
Listen, I only came back because SWG got added to Station Access. I can leave just as easily, and considering I have zero interest in EQII and my liking of EQ1 has reached an all time low, if I bail again it will be from all SOE games. I was really thinking that you guys had learned some lessons and were starting to put together a good game. The recent merchant flap and this makes me think you all play combat classes and neither seriously play nor understand players who happily sit in the back of a shop and gin up schematics, factory runs, and knockoffs. You do realize that we recently celebrated the *ONE-YEAR* anniversery of the "may we have furniture colorization, please" thread? Don't you?
Dvnce has been dropping hints that if we just hang on, we'll be happy. All I have to say on that score is there better be some news damn quick, because (no slap at him) it looks more and more like either he's snowed by you guys or desperately trying to keep the Architect community from dying out completely.
======================================
I urge everyone to raise a little hell. It seems SOE doesn't respond to anything short of a 30 page thread.

Well they could come up with a way to prevent griefing. Maybe say you can only destroy one structure of that player every day and then if you did destroy it the person could still access the hopper and remove everything that it had harvested. But then the harvester would go poof. Make it more interesting.
