Hey guy, Im 2 weeks new to architect on Gorath, and I just want to know, how do you guys stay alive? It seems that so far this profession has been quite merciless. I started a small store with mostly personal harvies and havn't gotten a single sale. Can someone let me know the best way going about making money? Is it just the Gorath economy? Thanks guys in advaned for all your helpful replies. BTW im TimDa Toolman on Gorath.

It can usually take a while to build up your business and get some sales going when you first start out.
I don't know how the economy is on Gorath specifically. Dvnce and Elyssa are both from there so they might have some helpful local advice.
But in general...
Personal harvesteers may not sell that well. I'm not too sure. You could try stocking them on the coronet bazaar, they'd get more visibility that way. Make sure that the BER is maximum, which is BER 4 for personals, BER 10 for medium and BER 13 for heavy.Lower BER harvesters don't sell well at all.
You might want to build up your resources to the point that you can stock medium harvesters. I think there will be more demand for that level at least. Factories might also work well starting out since their quality is standard and they are usually in some demand.
DO you ahve the merchant skill to get your vendor on the planet map? If not then I'd highly recommend getting it if you can afford the skillpoints. If you can't spend the SP then you might look around and see if there are any big malls with space open for vendors so you can get more traffic to your vendor. Similarly being in a player city can help with that.
Gungan heads probably won't sell much. They are a common grind item so theres a lot of them but demand isn't that high.
For a quick and easy buck you might check the coronet or theed bazaars to see if there are any crafting stations for sale. If not then put up a few for 5-6k each. Just the basic ones with a little experimentation so they ar at least a postitive rating. There is often demand for a basic crafting station and they can be hard to find sometimes.
I have a guide somewhere that I wrote once, though it wasn't 100% ever completed. I'll try and fish it out and find the link for you, might be helpful.

Its a half year old but the basic ideas still hold.
I'd also recommend reading through the FAQ if you haven't, theres a lot of info general in there that you might find useful.

Pawlinmakes some great points.
Personal harvs barely sell. I have a pretty high traffic vendor in which I stock around 5 of each personal harv and maybe get 1 sale in 3 months on them. If your new, and that is all you stock, expect not to get many sales at all.
Get some stock of heavy and medium harvesters as well as factories and houses. My shop is on Naboo, so I don't stock every planetary house, just Naboo and Generic. In the past I stocked all housing types, but found that if people want a Tat house, they are usually on Tat and will buy it there. This is not to say to not stock other houses, just that I feel my resources can be put to better use making more of the other products.
You may also want to specialize in certain products. Furniture is a good thing to stock because hardly anyone stocks it as well as crafting stations with high ratings. While making high rating crafting stations is a bit tricky, you can make a name for yourself if you can get them around 43+.

Try crafting them in practice mode, you'll get more xp, and you won't have a ton of Gungan heads lying around.

If you're low on money, grind houses.
I would grind medium houses. The components were all made in a factory but i made the final product. Each gave me more xp than gungan heads and I made money on them.
I would actually sell the gungan heads for a low price of about 500. Also, the fountains are a good grind too, and those can sell for a little more.
I still, as a master arch, sell ber 4 personal harvesters and ber 9 wind generators on the bazaar for 2k each. It is definatly an easy way to make money.

Thanks guys for all the great advice. I had no idea you could get a personal to 4 BER. Does that come from the experimentation? At any rate i moved my shop from Corellia to Tatooine because I figured I could have less compitition and be able to sell at a higher price for convinience. The WP is 3468 -3580 right north of Eisley. I really appreciate the advice and anything more any veteran Architects can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot yall

Gungan heads give lots of xp, but I like to tell up and coming Architects to make structure mods and walls instead. The xp is about the same, but the grind is a bit longer. But the upside is two fold. You get to learn what you can make as you advance, and you can actually use the stuff you create later on so you dont end up wasting resources in a senseless rush to master.

I finally have a vendor in a mall on tatooine and one in a mall on lok. Do you think this is good enough pawlin? And also I made about 5 gungan head statues and sold a few for 10k lol. I guess I will drop my prices down since that sounds like a rip off now lol.

Yes you can experiment personals up to BER 4. Windmills can go up to BER 9. Those are artisan made items so they use artisan experimentation. You need to have the domestic arts tree in order to get all the artisan experimentation points. Make sure your materials has high HR, SR and UT cause those are the stats that matter for harvesters. Over 900 is best.
