I'm just wondering who, if anyone, uses static harv farms? How many of each harvester do you use? Thanks!

I have 2. My main one on tatooine has 85 Mineral, 8 Chemical, 3 Gas, and 6 floral. I use mediums, becuase keeping that many heavies powered and maintained would break me easily. For the most part I pull up crap and sell it off pretty cheap. My second field is still growing to incorperate seconday harvesters, but it does have 50 mineral harvesters. This provides me with a good supply of resources for both Architect and armorsmith as well as selling it off.
Most of the time you will harvest crap material but every once in awhile you'll get a gold mine and get a sweet resource to spawn. The only down side is power.... fortunalty a guildie of mine got into that little buisness and I keep him bought out most of the time.
It's great for me, and one day when they finally do away with lot swaps I'll miss it but I won't be heartbroken.... managing all those harvesters can take some serious time, expecially after a resource shift.

I'm just setting mine back up after the old fields rotted last year. Currently only 10 heavies, supplemented by 15 mobile.

Running 60 medium minerals, 4 medium flora, 4 medium gas,and 6 heavy Chems my self right now. 90% in one spot others 300m away. I move 4 fusions ber 16,16,14,14 around constantly and able to power everything week to week and build up a small excess to save for non Radioactive spawn days or weeks. Like Tim-the-Toolman said I get mostly junk for use in Arcitect and some for armor, sell of the rest cheap and from time to time hit the jackpot materials. I keep 6 lots open for mobile use for off planet spawns and such using Heavys for that exclusivly. Mediums are the way to go for statics farms. theres nothing worst then sitting on a 30% spawn of crud copper and paying heavy rates for the week.

50 Mobile (use 10-15 for Power rest for uber resources)

Static farms are the evil - EVIL!!!
There is only one resource vendor on my entire server that has a clue how to price - the rest just take up space the actual crafters need and sell crap resources for 3cpu.

Yeah I hate resource vendors that think their stuff is greater than it is and sell way to high. I opened a resource vendor just to get rid of extra stuff, and if I don't need it I dumped it on there for a flat 2 cpu regarless of quality. But that'll change once I can get back to playing regurlarly, I'll actuly be charging like 1 cpu for crap stuff (still a profit) and 2-5 cpu for good stuff (unless it's tre uber, then I'll probably need it anyways)...

Resource vendors pre-holocron grind were pretty cool about pricing. They'd sell to actual crafters for 1cpu most of the time. When the holocrons began, everyone and their brother turned into a resource profiteer on Scylla. People haven't dropped that mentality. I like being able to keep a flat 5cpu formula on figuring out my prices for tailor and architect and the other things I sell - I don't like that most of the cost in that goes to some PVPer and his harvesters' three cpu prices for red-line quality resources. It's a ridiculous profit margin for the resource vendor to do nothing but check harvesters once every few-several days when the crafters are the ones that actually make it into something useful.

I stopped for 2 reasons.... it got old managing them, and I didnt want to be a part of the problem anymore. But in my heyday I ran 5 farms on 3 planets totaling a little over 400. 300 minerals, the rest evenly distributed. It was the ultimate solo-game. The last few months I just hang out. I been waiting for the Cu for a long time, as well as a fix to the farms. Someday there will be a need for more than 2 industrial crafters on each server... /sigh
