What is the difference between experimental durability and experimental effectiveness?

I've been playing around with making crafting stations and crafting tools with higher funtionality ratings but I still have no idea what teh experimental stuff is.

Effectiveness Affects the functionality rating of crafting stations and crafting kits.

Durability Affects .............er................ nothing as of now. Crafting stations nor kits decay so experiemented done on this area is totally wasted.
