Thread: A small request, hand-loadable factory containers, or 100% exp when in range.
I'm not asking for the ability to grind, exactly.
I'm asking for some means of either hand-producing a lot of a resource, (cinderblocks /b/b/b/b/b/b/b/b/b/b/b/b/b structural modules come to mind,) and still get the full experience for it without potentially tying up all my inventory with hand-crafted cinderblocks.
I see three ways to do this. One, allow some type of container to be loaded with near-identical items, and maintain a volume of one. This is probably the worst in the long run as each item would still need to be tracked. Two, allow factories to be de-automated, so a person who is Right There with it, (perhaps a booth? There is room in a factory, add a door and very small room. If you're inside bring exp back up to 100% for the items "ground" there. This would be good, to a degree, but still leaves the potential of multitasking. Perhaps hunting, grinding something else, or even surveying, while getting exp from the factory. Throw in a room and treat occupying it like swimming. No surveying or crafting in water, and no mobs to kill. Three, allow the crafting tools to be used like factories, including the loading of a schematic, and tapping your own inventory and backpack for inputs. This idea would be best...except it really destroys the reason for having a factory. Four, give the player a fourth option if they are using a crafting station, multi-manufacture. Tie up the crafting station for the appropiate length of time, (the normal length of time times the number of units,) block use of any other crafting station, and consume the materials as normal, but allow no experimentation. Drop the resulting items into a "factory" crate at the end.
Of course, not having used a factory, I'm ASSUMING that a factory crate has a total volume of one.
Oh, and on four, if the player logs off before the crafting session is done, do one of three things, abort, (with the loss of all materials,) stop, but complete the items that should have been finished, (if the session should be 30 seconds long, and the character goes linkdead after 5 minutes, while trying to make 20 items, give him 10,) or save the amount of time elapsed for the next login. I'd go with two personally.
I can't believe I said allow no experimentation.
I no longer remember what I was thinking, but I am pretty sure that was not it.
Allow no cancelation perhaps, but I don't think that was it.
Allow no...OH, I meant allow no practice. Block the practice checkbox so you can't get the 5% extra experience.
