Thread: Is anybody else bothered by this?

Hi, I'm not an architect, but as a home-owner and part of a group interested in creating a player city, this affects me. We make our home on Corellia. And get screwed out of a planet-unique architecture -- our Corellian buildings are (as I'm sure all of you are aware) identical to generic ones. Denizens of Naboo and Tatooine are given the option and variety inherent in having a choice between two styles. Of course, the planet-specific architecture is promoted by making it slightly more desireable -- it's got more floor space generally, and more floors on mediums than the generic equivalents, in return for being "locked onto" one planet.

However, Corellians don't have this option -- they get two color options. No multi-level mediums, no architectural variety. This oversight has already contributed to a rather reduced population for Corellia, and will only become more difficult to correct when player cities go live and people make commitments about where they'd like to live and found their cities. The available architecture will play an important part in that decision, I believe.

Likewise, what happened to the notion that Naboo and Corellian houses would be functional on Rori and Talus, their sister planets? Wasn't that the original intent? It's apparent that they share the same architecture in the NPC cities. This oversight should be corrected to, so as to allow fledgling player cities the variety Naboo and Tatooine currently enjoy, no matter where they choose to build themselves.

I've tried posting this concern before on the discussion forum, with minimal attention. So I'm trying one more time before the release of player cities to bring this matter to light, by posting it here, where I assume there is more interest in buildings and architecture.

Thoughts and comments welcome, and thanks for reading my plea.

I've posted this as a wishlist item. I wish I could say more, but all that I know is that they might make the change eventually

unless i'm horribly mistaken, the next patch has the deeds changed so you can build the planet specific houses on the moons.

That's good for Rorians to hear, at least. Talusians now get double the colors, whoo!

I would like to mention that as far as SWG architecture goes, Corellian houses got the shaft. They are ugly and smaller and go together in an aweful way + Corellia is a horrible planet to build on with it's 1000 rivers and 1 million trenches that prevent you from having any large spot of flat land. That's actually the reason why our guild moved to tatooine.

I'm bothered by this too. Not so much the moon issue, but the sheer bleh quality of Corellian houses. I cringe when someone wants to offer their "old" Corellian house as partial payment on a new house. I can't GIVE the dang things away. It's like all the blandness and lack of floorspace of a generic without all that bothersome versatility of where you can put it. (banging my head on desk)
