Q-0.6: How much is this +X Structure Complexity tape worth? What does Structure Complexity do?

Currently there is no known benefit to Structure Complexity. Structure complexity skill enhancement attachments have little value. It is possible that they may have a value in the future or that their value is just not known presently. SOE has not commented to the best of my knowledge (Pawlin).

I believe tha the Complexity tapes allow you to have a lower complexity on items (meaning that you could use a public station instead of a private one in some cases) and that the crafting time (both prototype and factory runs) would be lowered.

Have you done any testing?

If someone can verify it then that would be cool.

If that is the case then I'd still consider them of very low value.

Yes, making things a little bit faster would be nice, but not something that I would go spending lots of money on tapes for or actively searching for even. Since everyone uses Private Stations anyway, the speed is the only thing that would be worth anything. Like you said, I still wouldn't value them at much.

Nope. This information was from an Architectposting on the boards when someone asked about those tapes closer to the beginning of the game. He had Complexity tapes and that's what benefit he got from them. It would be nice if someone did test it and get actual numbers as to how much of a tape bonus decreases factory run times.

On a side note, he gave very clear values for the levels at which items require a Generic Tool, Specialized Tool, Public Station,or Private Station. I remember that because he explained that if such-and-such was a complexity of '52' and was brought down to '49' it would drop below one of the complexity level dividers if 50 was one of the seperating points (I used hypothetical numbers since I don't remember the actual numbers).

I'd look for the post, but I don't remember the poster's name, the board it was one, the date, or what the entire thread was about (including subject), so there's not much chance of doing a search for it and finding it.
