Hiya, I recently got a personal crafting station for free thanks to a really sweet, nice fella on Bloodin.. BoonDoggle was his name I think(taught me how to set up a factory too - nicest person I ever met in game).
Anyhow, the quality on it is 13.0 or such... I was wondering of this effects the quality of the stims I am making? If I get a higher quality one, will my stims I make be stronger? I've heard that some people have 40.0 quality or something on their crafting stations...
Any info would be very helpful.
Thanks

The quality on the station only affects the chances of success, and the level of success, of assembly and experimentation. Your stims will still be the same level (unless you get an Amazing Success, which you could do without the station). The only way to get better stims is to get better resources or to get more Medical Experimentation points.

Oh ok, that's neat... that still sounds good though since my experimentations often only get low levels of success... do you think it is worth for me to try shopping for 40.0 + station over my 13.0? I am not sure how significant the difference is.

We're not sure how significant the difference is either. We asked Thunderheart this for one of our "19 answer" questions and he said that station quality "influences" experimentation results. Player testing, including my own, hasn't shown a big difference. If you've got the money burning a hole in your pocket then it can't hurt but if there are other things you need like factories and harvesters, etc then I'd hold off on the station until later.

13 quality is okish, 40 and above with an input hopper is the best man.

The droid stations have an underlying "rating" that doesn't (typically) show up in the droid deed. For crafting stations it runs up to +15. So the DE folks have speculated that the droid stations are roughly equivalent to the "basic" stations that an architect makes (without the optional components).
There have been *very* little controlled experiments by the player community, and the ones that have been done left some of the variables unexplored. As Pawlin says, we got a worthless answer from TH. So no one knows if they have an 0.00001% impact on the result or a 5% impact on the result. Obviously it isn't a huge impact because if it were we would have more evidence.
I believe that the rating on the crafting *tool* has shown a difference in the crafting, so your first order of business is to get a crafting tool with as close to +15.00 as you can get.
After that, if you want to take out some "insurance", invest in a high-rated station.
