Im new to this board, and i have a few questions.

Currently im a master smuggler/pistoleer.

Last night I got a holocron telling me I had to master architect. Honestly I have no desire to do so. But my question is, what type of materials are used in making buildings etc, and what type wil i need to grind through the boxes fast?

I was just wondering so in case I do decide to follow this path, I can start stocking up on the materials needed to xp through the skills.'

Thanks for your time.

if all you are going to do is grind it out and you don't care about selling anything you can go one of 2 ways.

Get as much metal as you can get.... any kind will do.... and pump out crafting stations in practice mode....

or get a ton of low grade ore and just some metal and grind structure mods and then practice on wall modules... you'll get around 6k per wall assembled if i recall correctly (10 structure modules at 500 each plus around 1k for the wall assembly)

either way works. if you want to be able to construct something if it becomes necessary, do the structure mods and walls and hold onto them as you'll need them for most structures.

you'll need a ton of ore to do this as each wall mod will end up using 2200 ore and 800 metal if i recall correctly.

Good luck

How do we execute a passive buff? I have had many customers ask if I can buff more than one person at at time, and I reply no.....now I read that I can. Please help me to understand how.

Also, how does the distract option work? I have tried it on a few people, and for some it decreased their wep damage....I tried it on a TK character who was wearing composite armor, and his damage amount remained the same. I used it on another TK character who did not have on composite and her damage decreased also. I am wondering exactly how it works, and if the composite armor in any way deflects the option.

Hello,

It's easy : you need to be grouped to buff a whole group at once ( the group memebers still have to watch you ).

About distract : no idea what you're talking about.

If you mean our "distract" ability in the techniques line, it works by putting up a puff of smoke or dazzling lights or some such. It's a visual effect and, to my knowledge, does nothing except perhaps make you look good.

Maybe you are referring to a distract ability in another profession?

The distract is an option under ctrl+a then other.....it is used during dancing and if I remember correctly it states under the description that it can be used to distract an oppenent. /shrug....one thing I have learned from this game is that not everything is as it seems.

When doing a group buff, what command do I use......./setperform i know is used for 1 player, but what is used for the group?

You don't have to do any commands for the group. All the members get the buff if they /watch then /stopwatch ten minutes later. (yeah, 10... while grouped the buff takes 2x as long)

so to buff a whole group just be in the group, and all of them watch? or do you have to /setp on one of them to do the whole group?

also how many others are supprised to acuaually have cred? i just realised if i get 2 or 3k more cred i will have 40k... which strangely enough is almost as much as my swordsman on wanderhome.

They only have to watch while in your group, no need to do anything to them. Hence the word "passive"

Ok, so now that I am an initiate, and slowly grinding my way up to novice LS (I've found Tattered Tortons are good, 216 per kill), I have a few questions....

The # of crystals I have are really low, and I think the best one I have is of "good" quality. I am a TKM/Rifleman at the moment, so what should I go hunting? NS Protectors? NS Spell Weavers? I can solo an elder using conceal shot, but not sure if I want to try to face certain death if I aggro her. I think I would be able to take on a Protector or Spell weaver with the TKM skills....though I may just partner up to be sure.

LS - I am hearing that Polearms are the best thing to go up first? What should I do next? Lightsaber Technique? I don't plan on getting on the terms, since I am going to be very careful about where and when I am grinding...............

Thanks
