Im a chef and my product "decays" hence I have repeat buyers. But for the most part, I have had the same floral structures for most of my career. So I was thinking, what if harvesters and factories had the ability to overclock.
Just as when you overclock a computer you run the risk of quicker wear, then the same would happen to factories and harvesters. I OC my factory or harvester to about 50% efficiency and my structure begins to decay. Im not sure how to set up a good decay system but it is just a thought.
Will I always want to OC my factories and harvesters? Nope. But there will be times when I need a rush order and a happy customer is greater than a new factory. Or that amazing floral that just cannot possibly be better and I will sure as hell bring up more than usual and buy new harvies after.
Anyways, this is just a thought since I am split down the middle with the new changes on TC. I love the fact that my factories, houses, etc will not poof, but currently, this is the ONLY form of decay for an architect. So its selfish for me to want this at the expense of another profession.

I think this would be a very interesting addition to a decay system. I know I would love it. Kinda like a harv buff
Great Idea!

I honestly would probably OC most of the time. Why not? 50% more resources and all I have to do is buy more harvesters, just hope the architects of SF could supply me fast enough hahaha.

That'd be awesome...you could even have an addition that could improve the smuggler profession, make it where smugglers can "slice" your harvesters to overclock them. Give a big enough bonus to be desired but not a large enough one to always OC your harvs. That would be, like you said, perfect for uber spawns. This would help archs and smugglers at the same time, professions that both really need it.
