Structure Name: Multi-Purpose (MP) Factory

Size: 1 Lot

Type: Factory

Schematic: Any type (Generic/Weapon/Armor/Structure)

Inputs: Power, Maintenance (2.5x rate of normal Factory)


Features:



  • Replaces all factory types in one multiple purpose factory

  • Easy and convenient use for avatars with multiple crafting professions

  • Easy and convenient use for guilds who share resources

  • Easy and convenient management of factory needs Multiple use output hoppers to store mixed components for convenient retrieval

  • Streamlined landscape for cities and compounds who prefer to the look to that of mixed factory types

  • Enhances earnings opportunities of Architects with new structure addition





Fundamentally opposed to the SWG GR (Game Revamp) - Fix Classic SWG incrementally rather than embarking on balancing a New SWG from scratch - Players have suffered enuf for 2 yrs., time to build on strengths, thanks! - CLICK HERE

Sounds like a nice idea, but I don't think upping the maintenance will balance it out. I think you should make it use 2 lots instead of 1. Most master crafters are fully able to pay factory maintenance, so a 2.5 times increase of this will not make a big difference. But having it use 2 lots will bring a little more thought into it, whether to use a standard factory, or multipurposefactory (in my opinion).

How does enhance our earnings? It's still a factory and they'd sell at the same rate. Even then, removing 3schematics and then adding just 1 doesn't seem that beneficial to much of anyone.


I'd prefer it if we had what Weaponsmiths have, advanced components which would allow us to make factories which are more efficient, much like how Weaponsmiths can use advanced components to make a better weapon. These could create factories which will create items in half the time and would be loved by many a crafter, espeicially those who have large factory runs which may take days to complete.

I don't think they meant to remove the other schematics, just to add this one as another option. I think the 2 lot, 2x maint idea would be a little better than the original posted idea, though.

If he/she didn't intend for the removal of schematics, then why does that line top the list?

Replaces is perhaps a poor choice of words, but it only replaces them for those buyers who choose to use this new factory as a replacement strategy for single-purpose factories. I agree with the comments that 2 lots may be better to balance out the choices between single and MP factories.

This has been proposed before, probably a bad idea though. It would decrease the overall sales of all factories. Imagine for instance, if you could use your krayt rifle as a melee weapon as well.
