Right now 4-5 credits per unit of resource used is the expected norm. That leaves a smallhouse between 14k and 18k or so.

Well Im on Starsider. Ive been trying to sell a small house for 15k. Havent been able to yet. Everywhere I go I see other architects selling for 10k. I shout im selling a small house for 15k and prompty get a message saying so and so is selling them for 10k and I should lower my prices.

Just today I was running thru Bestine and there was a player selling Chitin armor for 40k a set. I cant even sell a small house for 15k and he was selling armor for 40k. Im not an armorcrafter but Im guessing the amount of resources is nowhere near what it takes to make a house. This is just plain silly to me.

Yeah people love to tell you "Bob is selling them for much cheaper, you should lower your price." I say, then go buy it from Bob. =)

Seriously. Sell them for as much as you think you can get. If someone is selling them cheaper, and you want to try and undercut thier price, then that is your perrogative. This is a free market economy after all.

The problem with a player run economy at the beginning is such. Since EVERYONE needs the xp from crafting, they want to spend as much time crafting as possible. They also need to fuel their harvesters maintenence costs, and get as much xp as fast as possible. This leads to severe price discrimination! People selling things either WAY under cost, or WAY over cost. It will take probably about 6-12 months for things to balance out. I almost retired my character when i heard that people already made master architect in 3.5 days.

I still think about it time to time when i see people undercharging for everything! I am playing the game by myself. I have a couple friends that give me deals on supplies, but i cant always count on them for the quantitis i require. This leaves me 2 options. First, i could pick up more skills, and try to gather materials myself... Which i have done... i picked up marksman and scout just to collect hides/bones. For me, this is extremly time wasting however. I dont want to be a marksman/scout! I want to be an architect!

This presents another problem. weapon powerups are 40xp a piece.. Bone Chest armor is 500xp. I would much rather take a few minutes more, and make the bone armor, and have someone get something out of it, than "grind" on powerups cheaply. The "average" price i have seen on hides/bones in bazaar is between 9-10 credits per. now figure, a bone chestplate takes 105 hides, and i forget how many bones, lets say 55... i am pretty sure its more than that, but cant get in game right now to check.

at 10 per, thats 105 + 55 = 160 TIMES 10 (cost per) = 1600 credits for JUST THE HIDE AND BONE! now, add into that the other resources i took the time to go sample. And people complain that 2500 credits is too much for this piece of armor.

I think 2500-3000 is a fair price considering what goes into it! I am usually willing to make the armor for a much lower price, if you provide the bones, and hides. Free if you give me 1/4th to 1/2 extra materials.

I go to the bazaar earlier, and see a bone chestplate for 500 credits. **edit** are these people thinking?!? Sure, they probably do it all themselves, or have friends helping them, but they are messing up the rest of us who are TRYING to make a decent living without learning every skill under the sun.

I got so frustrated, that i just stopped making it. i still shoot things now and again, cuz its a nice stress relief from clicking my way to carpal, but i have no intentions of remaining a marksman, or scout. My goal was to first become an architect, then either weaponsmith or armorsmith, then have fun with whatever remaining points i have left.

I am hoping that the economy WILL balance out with time, or someone somewhere finds a way to balance it out better. Increased harvester maintenence? This can be good, and it can be bad. I forsee only one possible outcome of this, and that is prices of everything skyrocketing more than they are now. People wont be able to charge 1-3 credits per resource (which is more than fair considering the numbers crafters use), and the prices of finished goods will go up, perhaps to their proper levels. Of course, this only matters to the solo crafters... The ones in big PA's dont have to worry about things like that because they ahve 100+ other people either givnig them stuff at a reduced cost or free. If only there was a way to remove the "grind" from the game, to allow prices to be more at the levels where they should be.
I know that the views on "where the prices should be" vary from player to player, but i think that the prices should be at LEAST enough to cover expenses, plus a profit to cover the time spent (not to mention critical fails).

Another of my thoughts that probably wont be too popular among my fellow players, would be to cap the xp a person can get in any given amount of time. This FORCES people to not become Master X profession in 3.5 days. (yes, im REALLY irked that there are already master's of elite classes)

If this game was really geared more towards the casual player, PA's wouldnt have such huge advantages.

Im done ranting now, and i hope i posted some words for thought in a meaningful way.

People exploited the faction system to get to master so quickly. There's no way they could have gotten the 2 million resources required to Master Architect in 6 days.
