Thread: Are crafting stations made with optional components better?

I have made both types of crafting stations, i.e. ones made from pure metal only, and others made with all optional components (droid storage compartments, micro sensor suites, control units), and I have found no difference between the two.

In the description of the item, supposedly, you are able to store resources in the input hopper of your specialized crafting tool. This does not work, so I'm thinking it is bugged. I have /bug 'd it, but was wondering if anyone else has found a use for the crafting stations made with the optional components?

Thanks!

Mine haven't worked either... would be nice if they'd fix that.

One of mine worked one time.. then nothing.. I think it is the same bug as the droid storage was in Beta.. you can open it if it is the first thing you open when signing in but after that only a logout will allow access to it..

Quick question, I have been looking for one of these weapons crafting stations with all the extra compartments and such, but how can I tell if the station has it in the bazaar?

Thanks

Minicoy, you can't so far as I know unless the seller makes a point of saying such. It's best to just find an architect on your server and deal with them directly anyway...they can build one for you with the parts esp. if they're a master artisan as well. If not, they may have connections to easily get them or else you could get them separately yourself and bring them to your architect of choice.

I bought a general/weapons one off a friend and as far as I can tell it doesn't do anything more than the normal one. No extra experiment points, no better quality, hopper won't open... etc etc.

Waste of his time and a waste of my credits.

I have heard of one reason to build in the optional stuff. It allows you to make some very rare items, such as the Wookie Bowcaster. Other than those very rare special items, thereis no reason to worry about the optional stuff.
