Thread: Why Urban Developer Should Be Elite-Elite

Most of you disagree with the thought of Urban Developer being a seperate Profession from Architect... Well here's my idea why it should occur, very little points but I've had people change their mind from it:
(Keep in mind this is if they replace a column of the tree with Urban Developer)

1) Experience: The experience points given to one for crafting a city building are supposedly immense do to the large amount of requirements to build one. Rumours say.. Much harder then a Guild Hall. How would you like it if you spent your time before this profession was welded into Architect to become Master by crafting over and over all those walls, structure modules, and generator turbines.. And someone build an "Urban Developer I" Cantina and gains enough Experience to get the next three skills?

2) Mass Architects: With the simplicity of gaining immense Experience from one building, imagine all the Architects that would spawn on the servers. Next thing you know, it would become a tradition to become Master Architect because it'd be extremely simple.

3) Resources: So here you are building your Cantina under a level 1 tree skill in Architect and someone asks you for a Large House. Since when would something of a higher level cost less to create than a lower level? If the rumour is true, then building a large house would be as simple as building a personal extractor.

4) Building requires a builder: Do you ever see a Master Entertainer running around with his/her Novice Bounty Hunter tag? No, why, because it's rare if even done. An entertainer entertains, they don't go out and lead a squad with their those skills. Which is why Urban Developer should become an Elite-Elite so it's only used by the dedicated.. Those who play this game to build and help the community by bringing them homes and buildings and not backing up your order another week because they want to reach Pistoleer.

5) Skill Points: Everyone wants Urban Developer into Architect because of their precious skill points. Big deal. Even the Developers mentioned at a later period in time when more Professions are introduced, more skill points will be available. If you want to save skill points for Scout, then you shouldn't be an Architect.

I'm a simple builder.. And I'd be happy to spend my skill points for Master Artisan, Architect, Urban Developer.. That should even deserve a badge or new tag entitled "Community Developer" or the such, wouldn't you agree? Again, my view.

All excellent reasons, but this game is so unfinished I'd rather see the current professions completed and player cities released before they add yet another broken profession. It is sad when bug fixes is concidered new content. I would like to see UP in the game, but well, I'd like to see a lot of other things before it.

While I would like to see professions fixed before new ones are added, I do not want them to place UP items into the architect tree as some sort of salvo for architects. I'd rather they delay player cites (which I know they won't do) rather than punch all the skematics into the architect tree.

Once those skematics are in the architect tree it will be much harder to remove them and dedicate a profession for them.

By placing UP into architect there would be a very good chance that the developers would say ok that's all you get for now as far as additional skematics and improvements. By keeping the two seperated there's more opportunity for additional items to be added to the architect profession that are not city structures, additional furniture, military buildings, new house styles ect..

I feel that if they push UP back into Architect it will be a sign of them rushing player cites to appease the masses rather than to get it right.
