now maybe i am missing something but why are there medium homes...they take up the same lots and hold the same amount of stuff that a small holds except its bigger, more to maintain, and more expensive to make and buy

so what is the point of it?

Because it's bigger =)

I use a home because I want a nice home, decorated, have space, put some vendors, etc. I could not do that with a small home. Plus, they look so much better (especiall naboo).

Because it is bigger in volume than a small and uses less lots than a large.

Not everyone uses the houses for the same reason as you.

Medium Naboo and Tatooine houses certainly have a point. Medium generic and Corellian, however...

More rooms

Even the Corellia junk

Small, 2 rooms that aren't that big.

Medium 2 large rooms and 2 small rooms or 3 large rooms with the back room being pretty large.

You ever try fitting 4 crafting stations in a small house and still have a room set up decorated as a living type room and a dining room and a bedroom?

Not a day goes by that I do not curse the laziness of the Devs for just copy and pasting the Generics onto the Corellian houses.

Well unless you store everything in backpacks (crafting supplies, products ect) then the only difference is clutter. I like my Med house because i can display things better. the living room is perfect for displaying armor, weapons, caught fish, you name it.

but yah i would expect a med house to actually hold more than a small. Make it take up 3 lots or something (or bump a small to 1 lot who knows) but there should be a diference in what each house can hold (and dont even get me started on why a large house and a PA hall hold the same amount and ONLY 100 more items that a SMALL house, figure that one out)

It's all due to the POS database they chose to use.

It's coming back and biting them in the arse now and we suffer for it.

From what I understand (Correct me if I'm wrong, I usually am) but
Smalls - 50 units
Mediums - 150 units
Large - 250 units (This I know for a fact)
PA Hall - 300 units

I haven't tested the max limit on any but the large, but I'm pretty sure smalls don't hold much... *shrug*
Anyhoo, it all depends on what you want to use it for. My guildmates prefer mediums for shops because (At least on Naboo) the main room is fairly large and you can fit a nice vendor and some displays in there... We're also setting up a city using Mediums since they only use 2 lots and hold more then small houses (We're currently trying to set up one house for each elite crafting profession as an HQ)
