Thread: How do you get 14 BER Fusions?

I made a fusion last night with a 90%+ effective OMU. I used decent resources that typically get me 13 kg/hr heavies with experimentation. Do I have to use the best of the best to get 14kg/hr fusions? What effectiveness is needed to jump from 13 to 14?

For the OMU, make sure that you have a BER of 6. This takes around 91-97% (I forget which since I made a run at 97% last).

For the final combine, use chem with no UT/SR or HR (Fuel, lub oil, etc.) This will keep it from effecting the final BER.

For the Ore, use Ofik if you have any, and use Pemi or the new Quad... steel that is active now. Your UT/SR/HR MUST be over 900 to get a 14 BER Fusion since you can't experiment on effectiveness anymore.

You have to use the best resources available because you have no experimentation, so you have to rely on your assembly combine percentage, which should be fairly consistent and result in BER14 every time if you use high enough stat materials for the combine and OMU.

I agree with Padre. Over 900 in the metals and any chem with no UT, HR or SR and your going to get a 14 BER every time. As long as the OMU is a 6 BER.

Remember tho - don't think about the OMU having a "BER 6". It's very clear that there is a difference between 6.00000001 and 6.9999999999, although that difference doesn't show. Experiment that OMU as high as you can, make a schematic, and label it (+93% or whatever).

When I use +93 or better OMUs and *excellent* materials for the final assembly (the same type of quality I'm using for BER13 harvesters), I get BER14 fusions right off the bat (good thing, since we can't improve it ) and then can experiment the storage way up.

Never used anything but 85% mining units for anything

I've used +87 OMU and gotten BER14 fusions. I've used +83 OMU and gotten BER13 fusions. Now I consistantly use +95 and above and never have to sweat things for BER14 fusions and BER13 heavies. It *matters*.

You need to use Ore mining unit witch has a BER of 6, preferably with a 90% or higher in the experiment phase, use the best steel with stats of 900+ in UT, HR, SR and use Chemicals that don’t have those traits. Wall, Generator, Manufacturing and small structural units won’t affect the final BER.

Gotta use better steel. I think I was using stuff with 853 UT. I hope I have something over 900.

Foaci, Omnipedium, Emaiiatem(sp), Hiso, Quaddaspete(sp?) all should work for you. You can use that uber iron we had last week too (Ideo?).

You have a BER16 that was made *since* the last patch? If so, you are the only one I've ever heard of.

Prior to the last patch we could experiment them up to BER16. Since the last patch we can't. We don't know if it is a bug or not.

The BER 16 fusion was made before the devs screwed up experimentation for fusion reactors. You can't experiment on efficiency anymore on them so the highest you can get is 14. Hold on to that 16BER, no one knows if the problem will ever be fixed and if not, that fusion reactor is irreplaceable.
