Yes... silly question, I know. I think the answer is "no," but I honestly do not know.

We can experiment on it, but as far as anyone can tell it doesn't actually DO anything.

I made a factory with 1929 storage capacity after experimenting.

And I have made factories with almost 300 storage but yet the capacity remains 100! ? !
How many items can one fit into a large/medium house.? I know small ones are 150

It's in the FAQ.

I think ZenDragon was trying to be helpful actually, since the FAQ holds the answer to this and many other related questions (that is why it is called FAQ you know).
Looking there would save YOU time in the event that you got an incorrect or incomplete answer. Pointing to the FAQ on a regular basis also helps others who read this forum intermitently to be aware that we have a FAQ stickied at the top of the board.
It is unfair to call Zen amessage board facist, I would certainly consider him one of the most helpful contributers to our board.
(I expect I will be 1 starred for this, but **edit**)

More specifically, you can experiment on a factory, but it doesn't really do anything.

Yeah, getting back to the thread, you can experiment on hopper size, up until now it has been commonly thought that increasing the hopper size of the factory has no effect whatsoever, however, testing of a recent bug, where items are not being made in the factory but resources are being used up, or factories simply stopping, has thrown up the possibility that this is connected to the hopper size, i.e. total number of items in combined input/output hoppers. It may be that factories with experimented hoppers have a greater combined capacity and are less succeptible to this bug.
EDIT : This has now been confirmed, experimentation does affect the overall capacity of the factory, but this could well change again when/if the bug that brought this to light gets fixed.

Back in the day, I think the experimentation worked.. They have since removed it. I still own an Equipment Factory that I experimented the effectiveness on. It runs 2x faster than any newer factories I've made. I've tried several times to obtain a faster factory, but it never seems to work now.
