Thread: First attempt at making something memorable

In the spirit of the creator of the X-Wing, and Pod Racer, I have decided to give a go at creating something memorable and cool and that had not yet been done (from what I could tell from the horrible search feature and thru google). Aside from home decorating - and a limited career at that - and a fireplace, this is the biggest project I have undertaken, and nothing short of a hallowed spot in Garva's Galactic Home show will do!
Hopefully I am a contender, and not a lightweight, but you be the judge. To be honest, it didn't turn out as well as I thought it could, and it only took me til now to screw up the courage to post (at work, no screenie available at the moment).
Please visit my AT-AT and let me know what you think, suggestions and critiques are appreciated(well, that behemoth would never fit in my hall, so this is what I call an AT-ATX, prototype to the walker, helps explain those nagging differences in appearance too). If you would like to create and improve on this project, be my guest, I'd love to see what you pros out there can do.
It can be viewed on the Intrepid server, Naboo, Antares, the PA Hall on the left when you arrive at the shuttleport (ANTRS/OTC Hall).

Wow, I don't even want to know how much time you've put into this! It's one of the better finished attempts I've seen in a while.

Very nice.
You should have gone prone under one of the feet for the screenshot, tho!

Very nice job. Did you submit it to the home show? I'd do so if you haven't yet. You'd definitely have a shot at winning I think.
I don't know how this post slipped by us all originally.

thanks a lot for all your compliments, the first time i posted, i just thought it sucked and left it at that, especially compared to the x-wing.. and you spend so much time looking at it, then you look at what an AT-AT really looks like, sigh, then just continue to try to replicate it anyway.
jayden, do you have any links to other attempts? i hadn't seen any so i thought nobody had tried before. i'm glad someone who's seen others thinks it's a better attempt, i can't imagine what the best one might look like, i racked my brain trying to think of anything that could be used for this part or that.
bandola, yes, it took quite a while maybe 7-10 days as i alternately got sick of the project and went searching for the right parts, and replacing the odd part when a new idea came up.
pawlin, i did actually submit it to garva through the forum mail, but no response, and that's about three weeks now that's gone by so i don't think it's a winning idea, unless there's backlog or something.
How It Was Made
I think most parts are fairly easy to spot. The body is made up of cheap shelves and faction armoirs, the head is cheap chairs, cheap armoirs and wooden chests, the legs are armor segments, locked containers and cheap end tables, some of the underbody is wall modules, cheap couches, armoirs and metal chairs, and 4 psg's for the neck, with some rifles as guns. I think there's around 160-170 items in it though I haven't counted. Each leg has 25 items in it, and there isn't a whole lot of room left in the hall.
Background
The All-Terrain Armored Transport Project, developed as a means of protection and security to all citizens of the Empire, produced this protoype. This scaled-down version of the final design was so successful in testing that it helped push forward the development cycle to allow the AT-AT to enter service a full year before its scheduled unveiling, and played a pivotal role in the rebellion suppression on Hoth.
This is the first of seven prototypes built, used in early terrain negotiation tests at various locations on Naboo, and is presented to the City of Antares in recognition of services rendered to the security of the citizens of the Empire.
