I was wondering what should I craft to get master that will take the least resources, I know I can craft gungun heads but you need a ton of ore and gemstone and dont want to mine that much or buy that much, I dont care how many items I have to craft I just need something that wont take a ton of resources. thanks for the help

It's still going to take a similar number of resources though. You don't get away from it by crafting smaller things. Experience is generated by the number of resources used in crafting it.

There is a great FAQ stickied on the top of the forum. Take a quick peek at your options.

As Sevardos says, all ways of grinding require generally the same amount of resources.

In general, you get about 2XP per unit of resource that you use up. So if you make a structure module (200 ore + 50 steel), you'll get about 500 xp. (The glaring exception to this rule of thumb is shipwright - they get 0.25 XP per unit of resource used.)

So you can make walls from Novice to Construction 1, and then statues after that. Or you can just continue to make walls. You will end up using almost exactly the same amount of resources no matter which path you choose.

The advantage of statues is the speed you can level (a lot less clicks). The disadvantage is that your expenses (for resources) are just poured down the toilet.

The advantage of walls is that they are actually useful for something. You may be able to sell them to a Master Architect and get back some of your expenses or you can hang on to them and build structures with them. The disadvantage is that it takes a lot more clicking to go with walls.

Another thing to think about - right now everyone is grinding shipwright - so getting resources, particularly ore, is almost impossible right now. If you are doing your own harvesting it isn't bad, but you can't count on the resource brokers to sell it to you for less than an arm and a leg right now.

find a master arch and do a deal with him, you make walls for him, using his resources, and give him the completed walls back. Either set up a back to back payment term or if you trust each other do it for free. I started out grinding walls and selling them to an arch, to begin I bought resources from him and then sold walls back at the same cpu as the resources, after a while he gave me resources free and I gave him back the completed walls free. that way I never had to pay out any credits and as he always had a big supply of resources I could get there quite quickly (not hours, it took days). Another possibility would be to see if there is a merchant anywhere who would take what you make for resale in return for resources.

It depends really on what reason you have for not being able to get bulk resources, but there is always a way if you think laterally.

That is interesting, I do not think that it will last though, I have found that I am selling heavy mins faster than I can make them right now, 100+ so far this week and the vendor empties out each time I put a new batch on, even before the next batch is made. So I foresee that there is going to be a lot of ore and other resources flooding into the market, fortunately I have a good supplier who keeps me supplied with as much ore as I can handle and I stocked up well enough before JTL. After the Shipwright grind has finished those resources are going to go directly into shipbuilding, and as that dies down they will struggle to find a home, so the cycle of boom & bust will start again.

Incidentally, I have already seen Ships being sold on Bria for around 2cpu, some people just never learn, I see that profession doomed to face the same problems as architect with low prices being set so early, I am glad I am not going that route.

forget about doing the statue thing, I made about 17 or so and actually made the statues, I have sold them as well

What I did early on, is made structure units, light power cores and small structure storage units. WHy? dead simple they make small houses and I carried on doing that.

When I got the xp I made factories for people, at 50k each and then made harvesters for myself. so what if the Max BER is 10? YOU need something better than a BER4 right now.

Always try and make stuff you can sell, for every house, make a wall and a storage unit (like a chest or something) put the deeds in here and store them, keep stocking your vendor, and - god forgive me, set up a macro (sorry guys :$), the one I use is set to say where I am and what I make every 20 minutes, and it goes out on planet chat and auction,

Advertising is your main priority, you can make all these wonderfull houses but if no one buys them, you are stuffed.

and check out the price guide that Pawlin keeeps popping up everynow and again, it will save you many mistakes.

Actually, crafting stations give 945xp per craft, and only take 400 metal and 50 mineral (which is much easier to get then ore, or gemstone)

True - that is a middle ground. But just like statues it is just burning through the resources - those stations have no value at all. You are right in that right now finding a big pile of something not needed by shipwrights (e.g., copper) might be easier than getting ore.
