Thread: Harvesters not fixed !

oky soo the animations work,, big deal, or do they?
They still keep runing when the resource is shifted, not sure if it is using power or not.. You have to intialize it and then close it, and then restart it to get the harvester working just like its been all along,,
i would rather have um acually fix them and possibly make them easier to use.. like have all the info on the main operate button,, like how much power andmaintance is left, and beable to pay um off that place like the other buttons. IE switch resources and empty hopper. As it is i need to goto what 5 seperate spots to pay, power,name, dump, change, check operation, and maintace base, ohh yea thats conveinent.
i could care less that my mineral minersanimate or not,, the gas, chem, and floral have no animation, I dont know what everyones hang up with it is,, they still dont tell you if they are off or not,. and still a pain to use and a bigger pain if thestuff has shfted..

I LOVE to see fields of harvesters animated, I really missed that from the early days when you had whole fields pumping away 
As for easier use harves, try using the /pay and /addpower command to add money and fuel. Much faster that the harv UI.
You can type them in as one line like:
/pay 15000;/addpower 15000
Select the harv then do this and they are paid and fueled I put this is the sparital then use the previous text key to bring it back up for the next harv.
Also use /struct to see the status screen, you can also name and add admins through commands (I have macros for naming and adding my usual admins to harvs).

Just a small tip (which you may already know), when a resource has shifted and you can't turn the harvester off, just press ALT twice, that will reinitialise the status screen.

thanks, but i knew about those commands : )
but when you are dealing with lots or harvesters, and many mobiles that dont work. well the money one is oky,, cuase a few extra credits aint bad,, but power is the big thing,., you dont want to dump in 10k power if there is already 15k in there, at the same time if there is a few hours left you need more.. and by the time you are checking status, and powering, empting your 50th harvester your thining there has got to be an easier way,... i run gulidie harvesters,., and have been runing 50+ mostly mobiles, ii find the spot they drop.. been doing it for 9 months im fast, but it could be made much simpiler and a simple one look read out, for all would be great,. one click, all good move one to the next,, ohh that one needs power, this one needs a hoper dump,, that one shifted One glance to see all status would be aswome. as it is now there is no comand for that.
if everything was on the same key pad,, it says the rate, the amount of stuff in the hopper already, why not a read out or maintance and money right on the same read out.. one click you see it all. what your mining, at what %, how much you got, how much money and power,.. not everything needs to be complicated.. id even go as far as say make the dead remember the name and the permissions. Sure you can macro it but i havent figured out how to get the color to stick,..
As for the feilds of working harvesters? well there was nothing like back in the day when they ran till the blew.. nothing like a feild of 50 burning harvesters,, and smoke filled air. Now thats mining ! !
