You would think wouldn't you that with planets having a solid crust we could find ore.... noooooooooooooooooooooo!
there happens to be a drought here, they have upped the size of some of the spawns but mainly for JTL stuff, everyone has sold out of resources, it seems shipwright are more resource hungry than we are. Bet thing I can suggest is camp out with a personel survey device and sample as well as mine.
BTW Don't bother doing statue's, if you find ore, make structure units and walls, more useful to you esp. during the ore drought that we have atm. then make what eveer you feel like, I went for houses, factories and Harvesters, but that was me.

We have had some extremely high concentrations of ore on various planets (97-98%).
However, I have not noted any of it making its way to the marketplace.

I'm an arch and a shipwright, so along with being a glutton for punishment i'm hording all the ore and steel i can pull in. You thought arch was resource intensive, ships are incredible. A yt1300 (master level) is something like 150k resources.
On the plus side we should all start to see the harvestor market go back up as resource sellers try to increase stock. I've already sold more harvs in the last 2 days than in the last month.

you do know that crafting stations give 945xp per craft, and only take 450 units of metal to make? Thats more xp per resource then say statues, and an easier resource to find, though it will take longer to grind.

exactly, it will take mcuh longer........ it will take up time that i can hunting nightsisters, running Janta missions, or just Dueling in the starport, thats why i prefer grinding on heads, i can spend 5 minutes working , even tho' it will cost me a ton more..................

If you are on Kettemoor make me an offer to mine ore for you. When I started I focused on ore cause it was hard to find. But the buyers never wanted to pay more than 2-3 cpu for the stuff and I could *always* find buyers at 3-4 cpu for steel or fiberplast or polymer. Now why would that matter? Till JTL ore was rarly found above 65% and Chem was easy to find above 85%. Hmmmm. 8 lots * 3-4 cpu *85% ah much better ROI (return on investment) so I stopped harvesting ore.

I must agree. If you are going to harvest resources for profit, ore is not high on the list. I seldom see it in concentrations much above the high 60's, and the market for it seldom pays more than 3cpu. Since the number of lots you get is tightly limited, you have a limited number of harvesters you can have down, so you want to collect something that pays. Steel, forexample,is much more profitable since it comes in higher concentrations and sells at a higher cpu.
Possible solutions might include upping the concentration for ore. Ore-only harvesters with higher base extraction rates and/or lower operating costs. Harvester only lots. Additional lots at certain skill levels.

Two things are guarenteed sellers in my opinion: Power and Ore.
As a full time arch, even with several dozen harvestors i was still buying all the ore i could find. Why? i'd just do run after run of structure and wall modules and put them into storage. Never know when you need a stack of walls for a big order.
Course now i've horded alot of it and have enough to hold me over for a while.
Everyone needs power, i just wish they'd make solar and wind more attractive a power source.
