Greetings fellow architects,

If I make a candle with a lifespan of X days, when does this start, from the moment it was created? Or when it is first placed in a house?

cheers

The countdown starts from the moment its made I believe. If you make them in a factory however, im pretty sure the countdown doesnt start til you remove them from the crate. Further...Unless they've fixed it, they wont burn out period, even after the lifespan is up.

For now...they wont produce light anymore if their lifespan has expired and the candle/lamp is moved or picked up. As long as it is never moved, it wont ever burn out.

Factory crates will also start their countdown from the time they are created.

However, this only applies to the LAST item in the crate (candle or lamp).

All the other items pulled from the crate will be at their full lifespan.

Therefore if you create 14-day candles and let the crate sit around for 15 days, you will pull 9 14-day candles and one burnt out candle from the crate.

Once the light is placed in a structure they will not burn out as long as they are not picked up.

If you pick them up after their lifespan has reached zero, they will be burnt out if you drop them again.
