I'm looking for layout's, placing tips/suggestions, etc... How do I know what that Small, Layout #2 Corellian house your trying to sell me will LOOK like? What IS Layout #2? What's the difference between a small, medium and large house? Is there any difference besides size and maintanence cost? Can anyone fill the informational gap here?

Aboo, the architect that sold you the deed should be providing this information for you. If he's not, I suggest dealing with a more knowledgable person in the future. Houses are a great investment if you have the proper guidance on the how's and why's.

In the interest of professionalism, here are a few tips for you on placement and maintenance of your home.

If you happen to be on the Bria Server, I will happily assist you in game.

1. When you find the place for your home. Stop moving completely and double click the deed. You will be taken to an overhead view of the terrain and your character will be centered on your screen and will appear as a small dot. You will see the outline of the house as well as a boundary around it. If this square is filled in in red, you cannot place the house there. Several reasons cause this, first being uneven terrain. Other reasons include nearby spawns, player camps, other houses, etc. Move your outline around the screen. If the color changes to green, you can click and your house will be placed. Take special note of the "rotation" of the house. You can click your right mouse button to "rotate" the house so that the door faces whatever way you wish (N, S, E, or W).

2. After you have successfully placed the house, a construction marker will appear. You can monitor the progress of the construction by clicking on the marker and selecting "status" from the radial menu. Houses take a very short time to complete (2 minutes). I suggest that you take a few steps back, zoom your camera out and enjoy the moment when your house completes. It is an extrememly gratifying to see the final construction take place.

3. IMMEDIATELY after your house appears, walk inside and find the Structure Management Terminal. Click on it and explore the various options. You can add administrators, declare your residence, allow access to specific people, as well as other things. FIRST THING: Place some credits into the maintenance pool!!!! A small house takes roughly 400 credits PER DAY to properly maintain (price goes up as house size goes up. The maintenance rate listed in the status window is credits required per half hour). If the status of your house falls below 100%, you will be in need of repairs. Repairs cost 3X the normal maintenance rate, so keep your pool up! You can put as many credits into the pool as you wish. For example, if you are going on vacation for a week, make sure you have at least 3000 credits in the pool.

4. Should you decide that you would like to move your house, you can click on the "destroy structure" option. If you do not have enough credits in the maintenance pool, the system will give you a message saying, "This structure requires XXXX credits to be redeeded" Deposit the correct amount into your pool (if needed) and select the "destroy structure" command again. NOTE: When you redeed a structure, you will lose all items currently in that structure. So, if you've got some of Floyd's Fine Furniture, make sure you pick it up before you redeed. Upon successful redeeding, you'll have the deed in your inventory and are free to place it at another location. Houses are either generic or planet specific, so if you want to live on Corellia, make sure you don't buy a Naboo house.

5. Furnish your home! Nothing quite beats the satisfaction of soloing a rancor except perhaps furnishing your home. Contact a reputable architect and hire him/her for a day. Discuss what types of furniture you would like to see in the house, ask him/her about placement and the shortcut commands. (Hint: /movefurniture forward 1-50 is one of them).

As far as pictures and floorplans go: There are some sites popping up now that have some floorplan information on them, but in my opinion, the best architects will have customers homes that they can take you on a tour of. I personally have access to one of each of every type of home I can sell for just this purpose. Screenshots are nice, personal tours are exceptional.

I hope that this information addresses your key points. Again I stress that the architect that sold you the deed should be providing this information for you.
