Thread: storing items in houses
I realize that the chests and cabinets are strictly for show but is there a way to store personal items or resources in your house??? if so how would you do that
thanks
Desimus
Either drop them on florr to store or put in pack and drop that...The pack one has a draw back because the itens in it dont appeare again until you pick up pack and i have heard of people lossing things this way too..
hope that helps

By the way, how did youhang that backpack on your wall? I bought a Corellian house yesterday, (which I find out here today that they are very ugly
, anyway...) But I haven't placed it yet. I'm trying to find out a little info on the housing system before I do. Are their any decent links to some "good to know" information on housing in this game as of yet?
1. Dropping items in a house, only the owner can do it right now. Once you drop it only the owner can pick it up. Soon they are supposed to fix a bug where any one on the admin list for the house can drop or pick up. It doesn't work right now.
2. Trading window can be such a pain.
3. As far as hanging the backpack on the wall, I just got as close to the wall as possible and hit drop. I don't know if it is really hanging or just floating in are, but it does not look like it is sitting on the floor.
4. House benefits are few and far between from what I can tell but here are a few:
Entertainers and medics can do the same thing in a house as a cantina or hosptial. So a house is a better place to heal than a camp.
You can put faction mission terminal in your house, you can put crafting stations in your house. Your house can provide a lot of functions that typically require you to run back to town.

Where do you get a faction mission terminal? That would be really cool
Benefits to a house other than looking cool:
Well I am an artisan so i have my own crafting stations in the back room.
I do store stuff there, and a nasty bug took 3k of ore from me, i placed a bug report and bang, last night, ores back...thanks Q!!! (or whoever)
when it gets ruff when and you are fighting tuskans in your front yard, like my little commune was this weekend, and you are close to dying, not too close though, you can go hide in your house and not die...that ones pretty cool
you can invite over attractive entertainers that can do "private" performances..maybe that s just me
Sell your wares with a vendor
have a safe place to log right out of cities
there are benefits to have a home and they dont have them done yet.
oh and if properly maintained they wont rot away like guns, so its an investment
If you are wearing something and you drop it in your house, it will stay in the same position it was when you were wearing it. This allows you to set up a "display" like on a mannequin if you have a tailoring or armor shop.
Just put on the whole getup, then stand near the wall facing out. Drop each item in the set without moving at all, and boom, you've got a floating clothing display (backpacks included I assume).
Be careful when fleeing to your house for safety. A friend ran into my house and said he still got killed. I haven't gotten details on how that happened, but consider yourself warned ![]()
