Thread: Good Extract Numbers
OK if I'm gonna buy a Heavy Mining, Gas and Fusion installtions. what would be good and real good numbers to look for?
thanks for the help!
To the previous poster's point, I charge 150k for a BER 12, while I charge 195k for a BER 13. That extra bit is going to cost you, since it's going to cost me my best steel.
Similarly a BER 10 mineral miner, I charge 55k for, whlie a BER 9, I only charge 45k for.
Whats the best extract number from a Moisture Vapor ?
I found a 10. Is that good?
So - *again* - the *current* MAX rates that we can build are:
small (personal) - BER4
medium - BER10
heavy - BER13
That applies no matter what resource the harvester is built for.
Does a BER 10 medium mineral harvester harvest the same amount of resource (given the same concentration and time) as a BER 10 heavy mineral harvester?
I've had someone say he ran a test and that the BER alone, not the size matters. If that's true, then heavies under BER 10 is a total waste of build resources, factory runs, and maintenance fees. Is that right?! ...especially for mineral harvesters where mediums take a lot less to build.
I would say that heavies under BER 10 are a total waste. From what I have seen, both 10's would suck in the same resources, but the heavy costs more to operate.

Yes.

To make the math easy, just remember that 1BER on a 69% spot gives you exactly 1000 units of resource a day. So a 10 BER harvester - of ANY size - would pump up 10,000 units of resource a day on a 69% spot.
I regard heavies less than BER11 and mediums less than BER7 to be essentially worthless. They are too close to the next lower size harvester to make the added operating cost worthwhile.
2 differences between a ber 10 heavy and a ber 10 mid...
mids are cheeper to run so will give you exactly the same resourses as the heavy but will cost you less credits in maint and less power to do exactly the same thing.
the heavy will have a larger hopper, so you can leave it longer without having to empty it
