I had an idea and thoughtit share. Let me know what you think.

One of the biggest problems crafters have is space. I myself have a medium house and no furniture. All my space and all the space in another small house are dedicated to crafting. Raw materials, stations, subcomponents andsupplies take a lot of space. Why not have a 'Professional Building' for crafters. Give it a capacity of, say, 500 items. Let it take 2 lots(Ok maybe 3). Have it wide open internally, no walls or frills. Set it so that it cannot be used as a residence. Set it so that the maintenance is higher than a large house. Maybe even give it a power requirement (Maybe). This way those of us that have a house can Use it as a house. We can keep all our supplies in one structure. As it is now, I borrow space from several people. Such a building would be better suited to crafting that any of the houses currently in use.

Just a thought.

Not a bad idea, except you don't need to have maintance more then a large house. It's just a storage shed. They could make it like they did the merchant tents, but with a lot more storage, and not able to be resisdence.

I suggested vaults craftable by Architects not long ago.

Each vault would hold 75 items, take up 1 lot and cost like 100 credits per day added to the house maint.

I really seriously doubt they are going to do anything to add storage space for us though. If nothing, I see them taking more away as their crappy database system gets more and more overloaded.

They are already taking vendor space from us. As it gets more and more overloaded, they will continue to remove space from us.

I'll play devil's advocate here. Try to reduce the amount of 'junk' you keep.

I have two accounts, which you'd think would be a plus for lots, is actually two times the storage headache. I actively try to limit the amount of items I keep; mostly because I don't want to use lots for storage, but to use those lots for harvesters and factories.

Some things I do:

1. I factory crate everything I can and leave what I don't immediately needin the output hopper. This reduces storage requirements and also allowsme to build nearly any structure "on the fly".

2. I maintain a complete line of furniture, deeds andarch componentsin my vendors. I keep only enough resources to make 100 additional of each item. Plus I keep 100k stacks of my most used resources.

3. I sell everything else

4. Last, but most important, use all your storage. I don't know how many people I've talked to that don't use their bank safety deposit or the input hopper of their factories.

Even though I remain really busy, I only have two medium houses, two merchant tents and two factories dropped for the use of both toons. If you only have one toon, you should be able to fit your business and storage into 6 lots leaving 4 lots open for harvesters.

And don't get me started on saving "junk" loot......................

Yeah, it is all database size issues. Nothing "ingame" per-se. I wonder how Ultima Online does it. THey have tons and tons of objects to record, even positions within a container window. They never seem to have issues with databse slowness or other issues. Mind you they did have a "clean-up" drive a couple years ago to get rid of junk in exchange for "prize tickets" which could be redeemed for a cool thing.

Anyway, I don't claim to know the quantity of items in these two systems, but with 5 characters and castles that can store thousands of items, you would think they must be doing something right.
