Thread: as a result of the vendor NERF
Due to the NERF that is proposed on the vendors and the rather big setbacks this is going to give most crafting players I have started to make a silmple fastloadning web page with pics of the craftable items in SWG.
But i'm not going master Every darn profession that has something to craft, reason for this is vendor nerf is going to be here LONG before i would have a chance to go over all the crafting professions and i'm real happy where I am right now.
Thats why i'm asking those who are willing and able to help get this web up as a referance web for the items that can be crafted by any profession.
peliminary results on the web are good and we have allready got 4 professions down with the pictures that are needed, though the croping of all the pics are killing me lol.
URL to the web page is
www.viul.no/swg.htm
it's not going to be big on background pictures and pictures all around couse thats not the point of the web thats under construction.
It's to be fast accesable and fast loading with out much mumbo jumbo around it.
those who help out will be given credit for there contribution, as the saying goes, give credit where credit is due.
so everybody that can craft anything, no matter how little / stupid /insegnificant it might seem please help us out.
Where not looking to make detail info on everyitem as they have done a superb job with on http://www.swgcraft.comand they have my respects for making such a solid database.
take a look at http://www.viul.no/test.jpg thats the kind of picture thats needed.
this due to a craftable items sheet that is also under construction, and other ideas that are under works.
NB.
I know my spelling ain't all god, but thats usualy the case with ppl who got dyslexia /wink
Devs posted that there gonig to nerf vendors to just be able to have 150 items...
if they are *in a good mood* the day there doing the patch for the nerf we might get what.. 200 to 300 items that can be on any given vendor at 1 time (for those of us with a vendor up that is)
still thats going to make it hard for some professions to hold a good stock, and again where back to taking more custom orders / tells / ingamemail and so on.
hence the idea for the web with just the pics of whats craftable, customers wants to see the stuff yesterday so we might as well try and be *ahead* of the comming "fun" that the DEV's are going to give us.... not like its the first time they do a NERF ![]()
First I have heard of this 'nerf'... If it does happen, I will DEFINITELY STOP PLAYING my crafter on Tempest. I have six vendors and ALL of them have close to or over 500 items each... There is NO way I can run my business without that kind of inventory.
If this is indeed to happen, I call SHINANIGANS and will transfer my riches back to Chilastra and play combat again, I guess.
If this NERF does happen, I will think thoughts about the devs that would get me banned for life from here...

Yay Shinanigans! *busts out here broom and beats everyone down* I'm actually not too bad about the vendor issue, long as its not 100 like I've heard. But I agree some profs NEED higher levels in vendors or else all they'll be doing is stocking vendors.... last I checked this was a game wasnt it? Which = fun? *shrugs* keep the game fun dang it devs!
It's just YET ANOTHER thing they are doing to hurt the players in order to help their poor little database out. It's ENTIRELY 100% because of database issues.
We have filled up the server that handles vendors/bazaar and there is like 1 server for every 3-4 Galaxies.
That's why they were down for a few days and why they are slow at times.
So, in order to fix their database problems, they cut back on what the players can do, just like they cut back on housing storage.
They keep taking things away from the game and before long, we will have 10 items in bank, 10 items in inventory with backpack adding 5 more storage and houses will have 5 per lot.
It's their screwed up database choices and design that's killing this for us.
Instead of fixing the game, they keep adding more bandaids and taking more away.
I know that the nerf is not going to be that bad for us who are master merchants, but there are still players out there who has not gone up that road.
And that was the idea of the web page listed in the top page here, to help those with only business lvl 3 and any other who might have use for it.
I agree to the one post here that some NERFS we need to get a better lvl of gameplay in general so please don't missunderstand me, but we all know as stated in a post here to that only reason there doing this NERF is that they made what most of us can agree is a real bad error on what size the Database to handle all items had to be. wich we again know is having a hard time allready.
and as any business, why sould thay waste money on something that they can just NERF.
but then we just have to wait and see what the DEV's finaly decide on. ![]()

Rumor has it that it was due to a disk storage issue, not necessarily database. I can't confirm this as true but I was told they simply were running out of disk space.
