Thread: Here are a Few Facts, don't argue I am always Right.
First of all.
Wind Generators, these are the best kind of power source you can use early on because only 2 of them can sustain all 6 of my other harvesters, now you may think that anything else is good but these wind generators extract wind a lot faster than the regular mineral extractors, they were not nerfed in beta it would seem, that is what i've seen anyway, and if they were nerfed then not as badly as the mineral/chem nerf. anyway. on to the next fact.
Crafting Exp, the best Way I've found to gain this is to make weapon power ups, for 4 chem and 6 mineral, you get like 40 crafting exp so that makes 10 resources for 40 crafting exp, a 4 to 1 ratio. Best I've sever seen, besides that point, here are my calculations.
33000/40 = 825
so that's how many combines you need to do (/boggle)
825 x 10 = 8250
So that's how many total resources you need
8250 x .4 = 3300
8250 x .6 = 4950
So this is how much chem and minerals you need, not bad if you really look at it.
Truth of the fact is you can be sampling one source while crafting these and not have to worry about running out. This may not seem to be much but remember, its still 825 combines. you would be very tired prolly after 200.
What else? oh yes, if you are having troubles placing buildings in good spots, try going to the island between tyrena and coronet. closer to tyrena a little but it's an excellent resource spot on my server.
If you don't want to have to grind so much, offer to make free bone armor for people who supply the bone/hide. or make it and sell it yourself.
I'll come back and add more to this later.
wiond generators are worthless now...
there are chemicals that are also power and radioactives...these can be mined with normal extarctors and you can switch back and forth between mining resources and mining power
i have a chemical extractor on a 93% petro fuel source....that has to beat the wind extractors
power is now so abundant that they should just take it out of the game...
Wind generators are very worthwhile. Their spec rate is 5.0 whereas personal harvesters are only 2.0. The wind generator I have on a 66% spot generates enough power to run 7 harvesters with some left over. The most you'll be able to power with one harvester on radioactives is 4, and that's if you're on an 85% or greater spot. You'll also have to take into account that the harvester itself needs power, so either you'll be powering at most 3 other harvesters with the one, or you'll be spending a fourth of your time on that harvester gathering power. I find the wind generator to be much simpler.
Arkalius is correct... The Wind Generators in the right location can power at least twice as many harvestors as one radioactive/petro harvestor can... The only time I use radioactive or petro to power is when I first place a Wind Gen and Harvestors. The Wind Gen takes a few minnutes to get enough power to start supplying, so I sample radioactive and use it until the flow starts...
And another point in favor of Generators is the generator can collect power while you sample something more useful than petro or radioactive...
i am also looking at lots....you are wasting a lot with windgen...the others can be duel use...
I have to agree that Wind generators are the most Efficent way to mine energy in the beginning, sure you can mine radio actives and other stuff on one gen...... but you get less power being produced. Also at this point it is useless to pay maintence on harvesters, just replace em ecery day or two, otherwise your paying out your butt. So make a wind or two or three to power all your stuff its faster and more economic.

Well, for the architects who aren't just novice, here are some facts.
Solar Power generators (according to the harvester calculator that can be found on www.swgcraft.com a very good site) are very very good. They are more efficient than wind, you can see the ratio if you figure out the math yourself, I don't have the numbers on hand with me right now.
Secondly,
For those who can afford the resources or the creds (a lot of creds)
The Fusion-ion power generator is simply the best, a few things to note.
Some may think that this can be placed anywhere and it will produce at a constant rate, this fact is incorrect, this requires to be placed in a mineral spot with a high percent of radioactive material (check your mineral survey device). I found this out the hard way with my PA matey Mirage. Another thing, This generator has a maximum rate of 13kg/h, compare this to the 2kg/h that wind generators make, the fusion power makes about 6.5 times what the wind power makes if the fact that the resource percentages are the same is given. Ontop of that, the maintenance cost for the fusion gen is literally HALF of 1 wind power generator, you figure out the math, very worthwhile indeed if you plan on having some intensive amounts of LEGIT harvesters. My opinion however, is these mofos are harder to make than PA halls (in all serioussness) it requires a lot of factory made things.
Furniture is nice but if you really want to get ahead, make your customers supply the hides. it's always good to set atleast 1 personal harvester for all kinds of resources, whether you think you need them or not. I can't recall how many times my supply of wood has saved my butt for a customer.
Let me finish off this post with one very important fact:
Do not put too much power or maintenance in your harvesters, the resources may change at any given moment so try to keep the maintenance at the cost of how much you need in the harvester to re-deed it, that way when the resource changes, you close up the space to redeed it and you don't lose creds like i did when i put 5k creds on a personal harvester just to have resources change the next day. same goes for power.
From my calculations for medium harvesters, You should look into putting 3 times the amount of creds what you put in power, this however is not a fact, just a theory that the harvester calculator i used had shown me, I trust in it though check it out yourself.
Ok i'm on a roll, one more fact.
Heavy Harvesters may extract resources faster, but the cost-efficiency is actually LOWER than a medium harvester, the only benefit that I could find between the two when comparing is that you save lots, so only go for heavies if you dont have many lots or friends with lots but you have a lot more creds/power. Medium harvesters has the same power cost, maaintenance cost, and maximum resource production to 2 personal harvesters, so here you are just purely saving lots. but remember medium harvesters can be harder to place on the ground than personals, but it's not such a pain to have to take care of 20 personals than 10 mediums.
good day.

I was reminded about criminals, here are a few things that you need to remember.
1. When making a deed, don't change the name of the deed to trick the customer into thinking it's a different kind of structure, it's the best way to make yourself hated. and it's bad business and bad honor, whether you are imperial or rebel, there's always got to be honor in business, otherwise it's just plain theivery.
2. I'm sure that CSRs will be seeing this issue soon and will start giving out warnings to those attempting to cheat customers, however they may do nothing because in all fairness it was a trade that was accepted on both sides, even though trickery was involved. as always this is indeed a tricky situation, if someone offers you a medium house for 50k and you say yes and do the trade, and you get something else then that's lieing and he can be in trouble, but if he just puts the trade in the window and says 50k, and yo u see the name for a medium house as the name, so you pay for it and end the trade, then he didn't exactly saying it was a medium house he was selling so he's protected from CSRs. In EQ this was a very delicate problem of a slightly different sort.
A couple ways to protect yourself.
1. Make sure that you were referred to by an honest person or friend
2. Don't give the money until you've asked a reference of his if you don't trust him.
3. Always look at the description of the item, now this has a slight problem because you may see the description but it may not indicate whether it's the right thing or the description of a different item.
Example:
I was selling a large house to a customer and she asked if she would accept a water vaporator, so i say yes and i check out the description on the item... hmmm something aint right here... so i go into my schematics (since im master achitect or close anyway i have the schematic myself) and i look at the description, true enough this has been renamed and someone tried to trick her, she didn't make this herself i know but I didn't care much about it because I didn't lose money, i just warned her taht she had been tricked. Now the only reason why I caught this was because I had the schematics, anyone who isn't an architect won't have the schematics so the best thing you can do is go to www.swgcraft.com and look up the schematics there, That's the only info I could give you for now.
"This generator has a maximum rate of 13kg/h, compare this to the 2kg/h that wind generators make, the fusion power makes about 6.5 times what the wind power makes"
hey i know you are always right and everything, but wasn't it stated about 3 replies before you wrote that that the wind generator is 5, not 2?
