I got a factory up, my friend placed it cuz I did not have the lots left (they take 5 lots BTW), and made me an admin of ti but I can not open eather of the hoppers or anything, and I'm not sure how to use it anyway, if I made a schmatic and gave it to my friend and he loaded it up and turned it on would I get exp for it or would he or would we both? He said he can open the hoppers. so it seems to work for the oners I looked and my name is listed under the admin list and the hopper list still I can not make it work, and need to know how even if my friend is to use it.

Stupid factories.... That is a bug. If you are an admin you should be able to do everything to that factory but destroy it. Testing it now to see what kind of exp it will give.

Sylena,

Yes, the person who created the schematic is the one who receives the Experience for the items produced.

At least, that is how it is working for my right now.

I bought a factory and had my friend set it up since I have no building lots left. Well I made an armorsmith schematic and she had to put it in due to factories being bugged. Well now she is getting armorcrafting exp and I am getting zip.

Does anyone know of what kind of factories do what? I mean, I keep getting questions over and over again, about an equipment factory opposed to every other kind of factory, For example, A wearables factory is going to make clothing and armor yes? A food factory is going to make food? Will it make stimpacks too? What about a structure factory, obviously that should be easy, intallations and structures. But what does an equipment factory do? Makes everything the others dont? Will it make stimpacks? I should know this, but im not going to build myself a factory and throw stuff into it when maintaining my harvesters is costly enough. Are there not any guides out there stating what factory does what? No pictures from the devs showing what houses look like before you make/sell/build your homes?

From what I understand:
1. Equipment factory - Is for anything that is considered generic.
1a. camp kits
1b. traps
1c. weapons
I know those 3 things for sure and maybe meds but have not been able to try and verify

2. Structure Factory
2a. all the things architects need

3. Wearable factory
3a. Clothing and armor
3b. fiberplast panels

4. Food Factory
4a. food of course
4b. if equipment cant do meds then this one can

I am sure others can expound on this more but this is a start
