Thread: We all know it's true.
I am thoroughly convinced now that the DEV's absolutely love screwing us architects. They probably take bets on how many posts go up each day on what else happened to us and how mad we are. Here is why I feel the way I do.
1) Wow critical failures seem to have doubled since the last big patch. Now I get to crit on at least one or two walls in building a factory or house. Also hmm, lets see out of 3 houses built lately, 2 have failed. Wow I love losing so many resources.
2) Oklets all now build a Generator Turbine. Please deposit 250 Carbonate Ore........... Oh wait I forgot there hasn't been Carbonate ore on the planet in at least3 weeks.
3) Oh good another resouce change! Maybe now we'll get some good ore with good UT! Alright! woo hoo we now only get to harvest siliclastic ore with a max UT of (drum role please)........ 312 UT. Oh my, I can hardly contain myself. Wow with that UT rating now everything I make should critical fail me now.
I'm so happy that all my customers are sending angry e-mails to me saying where is my stuff. I'm so happy that I put all this time into learning this profession and I get to go to bed each night frustrated.
All in all I love the game don't get me wrong. They did a great job in the way it looks. I know you can never please everyone entirely, but at least try to please us. After all we pay you guys every month to appease our Star Wars addiction. 275,000 beta testers can't be wrong.
Flame me or Agree with me, I really don't care. I'm just saying what we all know is true.
2. There are 9 other planets. stop being lazy and get off your ass and go mine on another planet.
3. See # 2.
not really flaming here, im just tired of people that wear blinders. Theres more to the game than 1 planet and if you choose not to leave it, then dont bitch about what resources are on that ONE planet when theres 9 others out there.
Crit fails are all in how you do it. If you use crappy stuff, then you will fail. if you use good stuff, then you wont. its really that simple.

That's interesting considering that just yesterday I failed twice times in a row on crafting stations using 90+%factory components and materials of very high quality. Almost all of the resources I wasusing for each componenthad primary stats of over 900 and average stats of over 600. And the copper I was using in the final step had over 900 conductivity and average stats of close to 800. I needed to make 8 of the stations, but due to 5totalfailures, I had to craft 13 times. That comes up to a 38% failure rate with fairly high-quality materials, which is pretty obscene for someone who has 4-2-4-3 in Architect building something available at novice. I haven't seen any evidence that material quality makes a difference, but if it does thenI hate to think what my failure rate would be with lower-quality materials.
Something is definately wrong with the critical failure rate. Perhaps their are unknown factors that cause some people to have problems with failures while others don't, but I can definately say that there are those of us who are having ridiculous numbers of failures.
I fail all the time with all qualities of resources. Nothing for me to fail a dozen times in a 4-5 hour crafting session. I am not really complaining, just pointing out that I dont think the quality has as much to do with it as perhaps it should.
