This has probably already been posted somewhere but just in case.

How do you figure out how much 1 unit of power with a PE of over 500 will get you?

((PE rating/1000) * (PE rating/1000)) + 1 which would be (.984 * .984) + 1 which would come out as 1.968256 units. .968256 being the Bonus.

.984 because ratings are measured in 1000ths. A rating of 1000 out of 1000 would be 1. A rating of 984 out of 1000 would be .984

Anyway, you get the point.

Just to clarify, the 984 I got there is the current PE rating of the class 7 radioactive we have on Corellia on Bloodfin at the moment. I did some editing and edited out that part

AE = Actual Energy

PE = Potential Energy Rating

The Equation:

If PE <= 500 Then AE = 1 * units

IF PE > 500 Then AE = ((( PE - 500) / 500) + 1) * units

Mine is easier. All you do is add a decimal to the beginning of the PE number and multiply it by itself and add 1.

If PE = 984

(.984 * .984) + 1

One of you is incorrect. I don't give a rat's rear end about power consumption so I don't care to comment on which of you is right, but those two formulae are mutually exclusive. One is linear, the other is quadratic. And scortch, an easier way to express your formula would be PE^2 + 1

(PE^2) + 1 = (968,256) + 1 = 968,257

((984/1000) ^ 2) + 1 would be more like it.
