Thread: Resource Miners = Bantha poo-do
You should tell us how you really feel. Its unhealthy to keep that inside ![]()
seriously, I agree with you. I would stop playing if they implemented housing decay, but heck yeah on the harvesters. They *should* wear out..being used so much right? And you are so on the money....for what resources are going for they could buy one with only a few stacks of ore sales.
Hows that for a topic? hehe. Really though, some of the complaints and whines they are bringing up are really souring me on the whole lot of money grubbing cry babies. The merits of this patch/bug aside, bottom, line is anything that might make the architect proffesion viable in the future they will raise bloody stinking hell over. WHAT! The heavy miner i payed for 3 months ago and has generated me 4 million in profits has to be replaced! You mean i have to spend 200k to make another 4 million (Well 5 with new extraction rates) No way!. etc etc.
Dont get me wrong, I am a resource miner...started as one, continue even after MA to primarily operate as one. So you know what, The whole lot of you can cry me a fricking river...I now how much money you make vs the average architect...your greed on this is surpased only by your sheer gaul. I hope they add a steep decay rate to harvestors, and a starship crashed into your houses ya selfish little chubbas. =p
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Yeah, I agree, but again, all of the underwear clad, survey skilled mining bounty hunters have a right to make a credit.
I saw allot of posts on the architect boards against the hopper size going down, and wondered why would architects be against this. Then it hit me, these people where not architects, they where the people that play this game to be "uber and 1337". The ones that play for game mechanics only. The ones that don't wear clothes, because clothes dont give you any game benefit. The ones that don't want to be an architect or a crafter, but want the credit gathering ability that is harvestors.
So, next time you see a miner, you know for sure it is one of two types of people.
1) A Master Architect that got tired of building for cheap, and went into mining.
2) A bounty hunter or other combat class, with novice artisan and the survey branch(for raking in that pile of uber credits)
Ohh, and to get back to the original subject, resource miners = bantha poodo because miner #2 is usually quite an effecient hog. It is easy to get your harvestors on the hot spots when you don't have to waste your time with actually building things with those mined resources.
Finally, a sales hint for all you Resource Hunters.. err Bounty Hunters. When you are selling a resources that is currently available, and especially if it is ore, on the bazaar, save yourself 20 credits and the time of splitting your hoard into little piles of 300 and try to sell it for the bazaar max of 3000. No one, or very few will pay those jacked prices. Especially when your target market with most ore is architects. Only a fool architect would buy your ore for 10 cpu and turn it into a 3 cpu structure.
I fall into the Novice DE who saw DE bugged beyond belief, started finding something else better to do and decided DE wasn't worth going back to.
Actually I don't think tigris has a valid point. You paid x amount for 16 heavies that would extract at 7kg/h. You still have 16 heavies that extract at 7kg/h. They definitely aren't useless - you're still pulling lots of resources out of the ground for really cheap. Does it really make that much of a difference that you're resources cost .5cpu instead of .4?
Whatsucks isthat there was no prior warning that this change was going into effect - you'd probably rather pay more for top of the line heavies today or less for mediums that are just as good (minus hopper size) - but I don't think getting those heavy harvesters upgraded for free is a reasonable expectation. Especially since us architects were just as surprised (if not more so) than you were by the changes. ![]()
If miners are charging 6cpu and it bothers you, don't buy the resources from them. If that is the price the market will bear then horray for basic supply/demand economics. As architects we have really only two options. One is to mine our own resources, which gets hard as the structures we want to make get bigger. Two is to get as many people into mining as possible. Increase the supply and the price will fall.
If you're in the architect line of work to make money, you'll be disappointed. Try armorsmith or weaponsmith. They routinely make 3cpu or better (sometimes much better) profit even after buying resources.
