Had this today and heard of a few other cases, just in case anybody here gets this message when trying to log onto the game here is the fix as given to me on SWG on-line support (very fast, very helpful, thanks guys!) - delete your cookies, then log in from start again. Simple as that.

Not sure I understand the question...
let me explain in a little more detail, I tried to log into the gameand got the message then, I used the support given under 'contact us' on this site, online chat with a CSR who told me the fix. I can guarantee it works.

Oops. I read right over when you said : "when trying to log onto the game".
My mistake.
Odd that cookies would impact logging into the game.

If this is a cookie problem I wonder why it clears itself up? When I get this message, I quit out of the launcher, then restart it. It always works the second time. Weird.

Hmm, you know when you launch the game there is a little news window on the right hand side.
I think thats actually HTML code pulled from a website. So I bet that might have something to do with it.

I was wondering that, too. First it happened to Bober, then the next day it happened to me--same deal, just restart the launchpad and it was fine. And I don't think it's happened at all since then...sound right, Bober?

No, I still get the problem about every two or three launches.
Edit: Oh, and I also get nothing in the update box to the right somtimes also. That update box is simply an IE window pulling a specific web page.

I get this pretty often if I start things up and don't hit start right away, usually llooking at web pages. Also if I log into the game launch pad and then go to the boards, it usually does it everytime. I just quit the launch pad and redo it, works fine then.

OK, this was the first time ever it happened to me, sounds as if the CSR just went for a 'standard' delete cookies answer but that was not necessary, a restart would have probably fixed it anyway. I chatted to our IT guy in the office and he told me that whenever there are any online problems he always advises people to delete cookies and start again as the first fix attempt, so that must be a bit like 'check you have put the plug in'.

Yeah, I thought so too, but they knew the trick to fix it immediately, and it worked for me and a couple of others on Bria who had the same, so I guess it's something 'known', probably got introduced with the patch (I wasn't on yesterday) or it's a Thursday the 13th bug, or maybe it came with the Windows update I downloaded yesterday.
(had to edit, my spelling was worse than a six year old's)
