OK, shoot I should have read the other thread about OMU's not stacking because I ran off 50! And now I have a structure factory up I wont be able to take down for awhile.

But whats a good percentage on OMU's? Obviously 100 but what about 92 is that any good?

And lets say I plopped them on my vendor, what would I expect to get for them? (Im only dabbling in Architect, Im a DE that needed a part for a power droid, and ended up with 0 4 4 1)

Thanks for any and all advice.

Something in the 90-99% range is good. But it is a good idea to get as high as possible because it will make it easier to get better results in the final combine.

The final result is based on the % result of the mining component and the % result of the deed's experimentation. The higher you get on the mining component the lower you can go in the final combine. So a really high mining component will allow you to use lower quality materials in the final combine.

Roughly 90% average between the mining component and the final combine will you to max BER.

SO if you are making heavy minerals then a 90% on the OMU will mean you'll need 90% or better on the final combine. But if you had a 98% OMU then you could get max BER with just 82% on the final combine.

Note these % numbers are very rough and just to give an idea.

I don't know what the resale market would be for mining components and I don't think its too good. I think its one area that most architects would just do themselves and not worry about trusting others to do.

OMUs are one item I might buy a few of because you can use singles to make fusions. I wouldn't pay over 4 cpu though. I can buy decent materials for 3 cpu and grind for 2 cpu.

I'd think that the commodity parts like walls and storage modules might sell a little better. Power cores might do ok as well. Generator turbines in large runs of identical serial numbers could sell ok too.

Unless I *really really* knew someone, I would NOT buy any components where quality mattered from them. It's easy to put a "+98%" in the label of a manufacturing component - but only the creator knows if that is truthful or not.

As Pawlin says, I'm more likely to buy other components where quality doesn't matter. However, even there I probably wouldn't - I make as many things as possible in my factory, and I use the "leftovers" from other batches to make the "one off" items.

"Why don't omu's crate?"

Same reason ore seems to max out around 50% forcing us to use more harvesters, consuming our lots, yet we need more lots for factories to store all the damn ore we need to make walls. The same reason we need 10x more resources than anyone else and can only sell our goods for 3-5 cpu max.

It's a sick, cruel, evil, evil joke and everyone over there at SOE is laughing at us.

It's true!
