Thread: Question regarding paintings

I've been a master architect for a while now & for now I have stoped selling harvs & houses while I stockpile some resources for alot of City Structers I have to make so while I am doing this I have decided to keep some money coming in by selling the Bestine Paintings however after an incident earlier today I am now questioning my prices.

I was selling paintings at 5k for current paintings & 10k for those which the schematic is no longer in cycle for however today I have someone empty my vendor & then mail me asking for 50more at the same price. Personly I am an architect as I enjoy it & although a bit of money coming in is nice I prefer to sell such things as paintings as I know many people like myself enjoy collecting art ingame. So due to this I have for now requested that people buy no more then 3 identical paintings & I have raised my prices by 5k but I am curious what other people value their paintings at? I know economies change between server but this is something I see as been pretty universal between them.

So again what do you charge for Bestine Paintings?

By the way sorry if this has been asked before but it's 3:20 am here & the search function is returning sod all so I thought I'd ask ^_^

Thanks.

I have seen paintings go for 3-25k per. If you use your schematic and make a large factory run, you can sell them cheaper to cover the schematic, materialand factory/power run. I think 5k is a fair price, but somebody might buy from you and resale.

Well, I never got the results back on the debate as to whether it is intentional that we can make a factory schematic from the picture schematic or not. So I can not say to much on making multiple issues of the same picture.

However, I personally have made several copies of the picture and have sold them at 3-4k on the open bazaar. #1 it guarentees it to be out where most people will go and check for things, and #2, it gets people to buy them off of my other character, who puts them up. As long as he makes the money back for the actual schematic, I could care less about the resources used. It's all soft money to me.

Now, my Architect has a vendor that has those same paintings on it, and I sell them for 10k each on my vendor. They do sell rather quickly too. I don't get quantity orders for them, and if I did, I always put my schematics up for 1k units and store the resources in a back pack on a secret vendor and know exactly what pack to pull to make something from one of my schematics. It's what works for me.

But you also must know, that people that buy you out, even when you have a great number of the product, and then also ask for a great number more of them, are probably re-selling them. Which, as long as you get your money, really shouldn't matter. Just letting you know that's probably how they are going about it. I remember when these things hit the market, and people were selling them at 50k or better a piece, and they knew they had tons of them, but everyone was lead to believe these would be very limited edition paintings and schematics, however, they weren't and they got gouged for it too.

Sell them for what you feel comfortable with though, and don't change that unless you want to. If you're making money, which is the Architect or for that matter any crafters dream, then do what you want and do what works best for you.

I agree with this. Just most people who sell at least want to get money to cover the price of resources, schematics etc. Otherwise you don't make money on them, you lose it. Unless you have another source of income you won't be able to pay your bills hehe.

I too initially sold my paintings for a good credit (over 20K each) and they sold like hot cakes on "the day they came out".

I list the popular paintings for 13K each and the rest (can you say boring house and blumbush) for 10K each.
We just got the Krayt Painting this cycle and that sold like mad for 25K for the first few days. I've since dropped the Krayts down to 18K and they still sell nicely. All these sales are off vendors, BTW.

When I have bunch of furniture that doesn't sell off the vendor at the end of the 30 timer, I readjust the pricing downwards. If an item sells like crazy, the price gets nudged up slightly.

Bottom line, price for whatever the market will bear.

Cheers
