Thread: Question on Factories

I've read so much I'm not sure of the facts anymore...

Factories now give (I think) 10% XP for an item. Do you have to be logged in/next to it to get the XP? Or could you set up a production run and log off with XP gains?

how do you make wall units in factories? do you load 1 crate with struc modules then steel and ore or do you have to make 10 different crates for the struture models load each crate seprate then add the steel and ore? (so the factory will take 1 struture module at a time from the crates)

or

do you have to load 10 struc modules enough ore and steel/ then load 10 more struc modules enough ore and steel/ then add 10 more struc modules enough ore and steel/ and then and 10 more stuc modules.. well you get the idea

The factories are little structures that wastes some energy and money like extractors. You must create and experiment a recipe, but don't create an item, you have to do a manufacture schematic.

After that you must put all resources in the input hopper, your schematic in the right slot and you can start the production.

You will get a little experience, but the manufactured items will be presented in crates of 25 or 50 exact items, so they don't need much space in your inventory.

The basic rule is use the same resources in the shematic as the input hopper.

Good luck

i think you're supposed to get 10% of normal exp. But personally I haven't gotten any making food.

I'm not even sure you get UXP for people eating food that you make in a factory.

When you're making a manufacturing schematic make sure you have a food/chem crafting tool, and are near a food/chem crafting station. If you get the option to experiment, you should see beneath it the option to make a manufacturing schematic.

After you do that you go to your factory and insert the schematic (on the radial menu its under 3. Options)

Then you load the exact ingredients you used to make the schematic into the ingredient hopper (under 3. Options again)

Then if you put the right ingredients in, and you have maintenance and power for your factory, you can tell it to start manufacturing items.

By examining the factory, you'll see what item its making, how long each item takes (in seconds, so if you see 120 per object, thats 2 minutes) and how many items have been made.

You will get a message when it stops manufacturing things as well. Then you can go pick up your manufactured food packed neatly into crates which you can get from the output hopper (No. 3 Options)

Any other questions?

Is there a way to mass transfer 40 crates from output hopper to input hopper?
I hate transferring them 1 by 1..

Nope, you're stuck doing it by hand.

Hey, at least you're able to use crates now...I can remember when it wouldn't pull from them

I just open the input and output at the same time, it works fast, nothing to complain about.
