I have started running a resource harvesting business and I am in need of harvesters consistantly. For example, I needed 70 heavy minerals today. Now my demand won't be that bi everyday, but I will need all the types and lots of them.
Should I grind my alt to master just to supply myself? I have most of the resources needed and the fast grind would not bother me, but I'm not sure if that is really a good idea. If I just focused on one area(harvesters), is it a difficult thing to produce?
Any help would be appreciated!

Really big question is: Do you want to? If you don't really want to do the crafting then leave it to someone else and then spend your time enjoying something else.
If architect seems like it would be fun enough to you and if you really buy a lot of harvesters then it might be worth it to you financially.
Things to consider here:
The initial investment in materials required to grind out master architect with gungan head statues is about about 600k ore and 300k gems. So thats probably about 1.8-3M worth of stuff. So you'd have to save at least that much to make it worth considering. You could do it cheaper by grinding walls that you'd use in your own harvesters but that would take a good 5-10 times as long.
Then when you make your own harvesters there is about 25k of materials required to make each heavy harvester. So thats probably 50-75k minimum worth of resources.
You also needa stock of high quality steel and ore in order to make the harvesters. So you'd need to get that stuff.
All those resources have to be stored somewhere so you'd need some storage space.
You'd also need to dedicate some lots to structure factories. Plus each harvester takes factory runs for structure modules, walls, generator turbines, small structure modules and a mining component. Thats 7 factory runs including the final combine. I also figured once that it takes about 90 minutes total of factory time for EACH heavy mineral harvester.
Key questions to consider : How much do you usually pay for harvesters versus what could you sell 25k of materials for? Is it worth it in costs, time and effort to make your own to save the profit margin you'd be paying someone else?
