Just wondering if anyone else on Bria is having a tough time finding decent spots for ore? Not only do I not see any quality ore anywhere (I have plenty saved up...), but the available patches or grind ore seldom inch above 50% efficiency.
Am I just looking in the wrong spots, or is this just a bad time for ore mining? Also, I recall someone mentioning a specific type of ore that can be reliably found in higher concentrations, but I can't find the thread... can anyone refresh my memory?

I believe you're looking for "Fermionic" ore. According to SWGCraft.com, there's a 10 day old spawn on Endor.
If memory serves, I believe someone said it usuallylasts for 15-20 days in 70-90% spawns.

Yep, that rings a bell. Thanks!

My 95% spot of the JTL ore has been cooking for 20 days. I figure it'll shift out sometime while I'm at work today.

I hate traveling on Endor.. no shuttlports, few flat spots and lots of impassible trees! But thats where the JTL ore is, so thats I goes! I hope this 75% spot I found lasts a while.I dropped everything I had on it, cuz my 1.5 cpu ore hook-up just ran dry.

I was wondering about the title of this thread, since I was sure there is always one kind of ore somewhere all the time according the resource distribution scheme. So you just need to survey more.

When I posted this, I had surveyed for 3 days without finding a single harvestable spot of ore above 55%. I usually wait until I find a 60-70% peak before I place my harvs, but for some reason that week was just horrible. I went to every planet, and had the same problem. You will have a tough time convincing me that suveying tactics that had served me so well for months suddenly began to fail.
At any rate, I am now mining Ferimonic ore and I couldnt be happier! I have no trouble finding a 70%+ spot on whatever planet its on (this cycle it's on Lok on Bria). I think I will mine every last bit of of ore from that spot!
By the way, I have not tried my hand at any other ore since I began hunting for this stuff. It may well be that ore concentrations for other stuff are back to what I thought was normal.

From my experiences I have noticed that Fermionic spawns on only one planet at a time, but lasts approximately 3 weeks. And I have always been able to find 90% to 98% concentrations fairly quickly. Although I use great quantities of this ore in structure mods and wall mods, there is still a need for carbonate ore for generators, and pholokite and ionite ores for the white furniture. So unfortunately I can just come to a full stop on ore surveying after setting down on fermionic
. And it is such a treat when this Ore spawns on Lok
On a side note, the planetary survey droid comes in handy when fermionic switches planets. It's really about the only time I use the droids

50% is actually quite a decent spawn for regular ore. I'm on some frasium right now at 56%
