I just saw a struc/furn station with a -11 rating. I didn't know it could go negative. Does that mean that you become stupider by using it?

Yes you become stupider when you use it. Actually its more like a slower regen for your mind bar

If you use badly experimented parts, crafting stations normally start out with negative stats.

Somewhere I've got a Tantel helmet that has like -40k% protection to most things.

I've always been afraid to put it on because it might make my head explode.

Then again maybe it would be ok unless something hit me in the head and the damage would be increased by 40k% and make my head explode.

Either way, I'm not willing to take the chance.
