Greetings all..
Just wanted to drop a final note and say goodbye to you all. I'm leaving the game when my account expires next week.
The CU is horrible, but Sony's tactics about it and its underhandedness are even worse. The lack of attention my profession gets is apalling. And I have had enough. I will no longer continue to support sony in its endevours. I have been an architect since game launch. I opened my jedi character the hard way when you had to grind professions. I feel I have accomplished alot here, but enough is enough. The game has become a frustrating mess with no hope in sight.. at least for me. There are those who are happy with the way thigns are going, and I am glad those people are happy. I can not take it anymore.
So I say farewell to you all. Good luck. May the force be with you...

Another Architect bites the dust. The problem is, isthat I can't blame you at all for leaving. I feel we've been mislead for months now by the developers as are many other non-combat professions. I still like the game as it is, because the crafting/vendor system is still by far the best I've seen in any MMORPG.And while I'm not leaving myself, I *am* taking a brake from the game and hope that the developers will keep their word on revamping the non-combat profession when the CU and RotW has gone live.
I hope I will see you and all other Architects who're leaving by then

Me and my three accounts may be joining you soon. I AM going to wait until it actually goes live and I can see for certain just how horrible it's going to be. Oddly enough, I'm usually quite optimistic, but everything I've seen about this Combat Downgrade, from the combat to the crafting, to support professions is so horrible, I can't see myself enjoying any of them as they are now.
If I quit, maybe I'll stick around on the boards for a couple months to see if a mass exodus finally gets it through to the devs just how wrong they are about this downgrade.

Well I'm not far behind.
I havebeen playing since shortly after launch and have been an Architect from the begining.
Do you really think Sony is going to have time for a crafting update once the CURB hits?
The CURB is a major overhaul and considering its been 2 years since launch of thegame and we still have a butt load of bugs, how long do you think it will take them to even get the CURB working halfway right?
Once the CURB hits Sony is going to have combat folks screaming at the top of their lungs over every little thing and you can be dam sure the crafters will be very verylow on the priority list.
I'm not sure why but I'm going to give the CURB at least a month to see how it is before I make my final decision.
No matter what though I'm giving up all crafting, after two years it's become very obvious that Sony doesn't give a crap about crafting professions.
In fact don't be suprised to seethe gamegoing NPC vendor related within a year.

NPC vendors taking over would suck. I would be so mad I think I would just quit. I hope they don't do that. The reason I joined this game in the first place was because it was all based around players. At least that was a big reason. Well we can only pray now. Lol.

That's just a rumor, because it assumes that what would they work on after the CU? Well there is the smuggler revamp. I would be surprised if architect gets addressed at all actually. Squad leader could use some help. I've been one.

Crafting Revamp well if CU is the attention the combat classes got I am beginning to think not having the devs attention may well be a blessing in disguise

I feel your agony. I have been playing since publish 2 (before the imperial crackdown). I have taken along break for WoW. I remember during publish 8 and 9, they wanted to revamp bounty hunter, but I guess they didn't. The fact is, SOE has a long history of saying they will do something, only to change their mind about it. I see it as this, SOE hosts many games, eq2, swg, and others. I believe the money from all their gamesgoes into one pool. As it does, they notice increases in profit. Long as they have profit, they don't throw up any red flags. The reason I think they use one pool, because if they just check the profit coming in from swg alone, they would see something wrong is happening and profit is going to plummetseverely. The fact of the matter is thatSOE needs to concentrate on all games individually, not just the new hotness. Technically, all crafting professions need a revamp along with bounty hunter, squad leader (especially), commando, and some more. There is so much work that needs to be done, that I think it obscures certain problems that would be noticeable under different situations. As for me, I will keep playing, but if the game has just been destroyed for me, then I will just take another break and go back to WoW or stick with America's Army for a duration of time. I am putting my faith in SOE that they will handle the accrued issues with brute force, or if they fail me and other players, SOE will lose swg forever.
