What exactly is* that? Has it been shown to actually affect anything?

Also, what's considered average, good, awesome, etc .. ?

Thanks!

Well, as to what is good, 45 is the max, anything over 40 is extremely high. mid range would be 15-40 and sub par, anything under 10.

As to what it actually does? lots of theories, no documentation from the devs and no documented information from anyone conducting extensive tests.

the most prevalent theory is it helps with experimentation giving more great and amazing successes, but no one has anything other than... "i feel like i do better with it" as evidence to this case.

Do the 3 optional componants help with the functionality rating? I'd assume so.. I made one last night without any of the optionals, experimented it up to 74% - which ended up being only 7.4% funct.

i still get better results with my r5 droid than any crafting station and get far fewer failures

I have to say, from my own experience, 40+ crafting stations and 14+ crafting tools used together can give amazing results...

I usually only craft furniture with my droid, but I did a little experiment when a customer ordered 35 Medium Mineral Harvestors... I priced them out at base rate extraction adn told him a few may have better pull rates, etc... but I would not charge extra because I was using them as guinea pigs... ^_^

I made 15 of them using my 14.97 tool in front of my 42.33966 crafting station in my PA Hall and had 10 pull rates and large hopper sizes due to getting all great or amazing successes during experimentation...

I then made 10 using my same 14.97 tool while standing half to town from my PA Hall. I only had my droid out, no houses around... I had about half successes and half failures in experimenting... The average pull rate of the 10 harvestors was 8.6 and all had larger than base hoppers...

I then ran the rest of the way to town and used my 14.97 tool in front of the crafting stations in town, and had very similar results to using the droid... The average pull rate was 8.4 and the hopper sizes were larger than base...

During the making of the 35 harvestors I had no critical failures, so I felt pretty lucky... I went ahead and made a Fusion Generator using the two crafting station - it was a 18 pull rate and hopper of 386k... I went halfway to my PA Hall and made a Fusion Generator using my droid - it was 18 pull rate and 412k hopper... Then back at my PA HAll I made two Fusion Gens - both had21 pull rate and one hopper was 438k while the other was 411k due to a failure on one point of experimenting in final build...

So in summary, I get better results using the high rated crafting stations, but there still seems to be some randomness in everything as well... Also, during my testing the droid seemed to be better than the Public Crafting Stations in town... Hope this helps everyone. ^_^

did you use the same resources for every combine or end up substituting any little resources in there on a few of em? If not, than those are excellent tests and results.

I'm confused on what you actually tested.... for the harvesters, were you creating the LOMU's along the way? and then constructing the final unit?

how many did you make at each stop?

I use a highend tool, but low end station and have yet to come up with anything but the top LOMU's using good resources.... whether i craft there or with my droid.

this is a major difference from the extensive testing that was done by the other person so I'd like to know a little more about your tests.
