Thread: Politicians and their relationships with Architects
Anyway, do you think politicians are going to need pet architects to make them stuff or that there will be a market for buildings?

ps I'm going to use this blatantly OT thread to keep any info I get about politicians, it's convenient storage. On TC there is a politician trainer in bestine at -1126 -3616, the capital building.
I'm pretty sure there will be a market for the buildings as most cities will be taken care of by PA archs. The rest of the structures will be more of a fair game.

Most cities will either start with a PA, or quickly be dominated by a PA, those PA's have one or more Master architects that will be making most of the structures for the politician who is likely also a member or the guildmaster of the PA.
Ok dalyn...no more coffee for you this morning ![]()
I'm saying that there will be a market for the other city structures, but not as large as you might think. I don't see it being a "California Gold Rush". Those same PA archs handling the Halls for their cities will also do a majority of the other city structures. Being as these new structures will consume resources rather quickly, some will more than likely opt to purchase some of the buildings so as to not deplete the reserves they've built over time. Instead of looking at the city structures for market..think "smaller" ![]()

I think resource usage will be less of a problem for the archs in cities than some people realize. there are only so many structures that can be placed in each size city. you must advance both the city size and the politicians skill level in order place more advanced structures, so.... you have the time in between each city level and election to regather resources for the next level.
Now, if there is a market to be had by the average non city or PA oriented architect (like myself) i think it will be with the player placed buildings not the politician placed ones. Unfortunately, if you get a PA that wants to control everything the Mayor could simply not give permission to place something unless it was purchased from their PA architect. You also have the issue of placement in cities that have been preplanned... merchant tents will be great, but only if there is somewhere the mayor will let you put it.....
