Greetings to all the master Builders out there. I am really new to the architect field, in fact I'm pretty new to crafting in general. I just picked up novice artisan this evening and made novice architect about an hour ago, if that tells you how new I am at this lol. I know every crafting profession has it's own item that people just grind until their arms fall asleep to make master, the item that gives the best xp to resource ratio. Can anyone help me out and tell me what it is? Or what you think is the best way to get structure crafting xp fast. Thank you so much!

our limitations is not what the best item is to craft.. its having RESOURCES

If money is no object to you, get a crapload of ore and a crapload of metal... well about 30% metal and 70% ore. Make yourself a structure factory, then plant yourself in front of it and make a wall module schematic. Then make tons of structure modules and throwing them into the ingrediants hopper... basically make crates of walls. You will use TONS of these walls when yo uget to master. absolutely tons, so having crates of them is a good thing Craft a few walls by hand then make more struc mods to insert into factory.. so u will have some lose walls and some crated ones.

If you are poor and need money, make the walls in mass everyday as much as u can and sell to another architect (i dotn believe is spamming at the starport selling structures if you need the money as u cannot be guaranteed a sale, and there is usually some master architect who will guarantee sale on all your walls u make)... But stock up on some yourself in case you get an order or two from customers

There is no grinding in architecture.. you have sellable stuff at the novice level (walls and small houses) and u get uber xp for making them. Generator turbines are 2k or so xp each and are used in quite a few things too...

I met an architect who was using practice mode on walls and i could have cried (phrik alum was spawning and i literally cranked out dozens of heavies that day and just making walls from my crates of struc mods was tedious, would have loved to bought what he had 'practiced' on )

you will get to master as soon as your materials allow it. Heck it could be done in one day if you had the 700k resources it takes to master the profession

Wow thanks for the info, I've had practice on, but haven't made anything but harvestesrs and such. I have a couple questions though. Ok, so I make an equipment factory, and then I make a schematic for a wall, grind out the module thingys and put them in, then make lots of walls, do I get xp for the walls the factory makes? Also how much should I ask for the walls I make, assuming I sell them and don't save them for master, which I probably will do anyway cause I will need the money to actually make it TO master lol. and generators are 2k you say? also something about uberxp from houses? I'd love to hear more about this, like a few numbers if you have them handy. thanks!

look at www.swgcenter.com the schematics optoin on the left of the page

look under D for Deed For:

look at the material count at the bottom of the page for those deeds and multiple it by 2, that is how much xp u get for making that item.. actually a little more since u get a bit more on final combine

Now if you want money, just pump the walls out by hand and get under contract to a master... you get free training whenever you need it, cash and have a guaranteed buyer of your stuff (which is very nice when you are running harvesters)

Dont worry about a structure factory (we use structure factories,. not equip factories) if you are not planning on saving large amts of these walls for yourself

oh anda tip... NEVER premake houses.. those are the hardest things in the world to sell when you really gotta sell one.. keep walls and stuff on standby so you can craft a house if someone asks, but never just make a large or medium becuase murphys law you will end up stuck with the deed for a long time or end up selling it for half its value cuz you are desperate.

How you grind depends on what your goal is. If you are looking to make an in-game career out of master, then Jyss' tips are good, but if you are just wanting to make master in order to follow what a holocron told you, then you are better off grinding crafting stations in practice mode, since metal is easier to find in larger concentrations than ore is. Check some of the other threads for more advice on this.
