Thread: I have kept my mouth shut so far... 4 out of 7 critical fails!!!!!!

I have been a Master Architect for some time. Crafting city structures today on 4 out of 7 buildings i had planned on making failed! should a MASTER of any profession be a little better at their job? i just lost roughly a million credits in a matter of minutes. I am not complaining about the money. I am fortunate enough to have a Great PA and they support me with any need that i have so credits are not that important.

The fact still remains if I didnt have the support of 20 other players in game... how would i stay in business? What is fun about loosing everything you have worked so hard to get? I have put up with this prof long enough... I loved being a builder... I enjoy seeing ppl glad to have a home and a good price. I have had a good business so far and have made money in this prof, but the constant failures have pussed me to my limits. I am making a last run of my products for future use if i need them.. and yes i am going to be selfish.. i am going to make guild halls, city structures and harvestors and keep them for myself. I havent done anything for myself while being an architect because i am usually making other ppl things. Its been fun while it lasted.. but im going back to just running around killing things... it was more rewarding (ie holocrons, looted items). This was all my opinion... respect mine and when you reply i will respect yours.

I had 2 heavy mineral harvs fail in a row, thankfully I know the / commands to get through it, but NO experimentation made them almost useless.

I am aware of the way to get around it too... but some items just need to be experimented on! and a 9 on a heavy when my competition is selling 13 or above = not an option.

I agree that a Master ANYTHING should not fail, or have a very low fail rate (like 5%). Not many Brain Surgeons mess up a brain surgery.....

Cafa - Don't bump please. If I had a penny for every one of these posts, I'd be a very rich person.

Devs are aware of the issue. They are working on it. I put it as a top priority 2 months ago, and again in my Top 5 three weeks ago. Still no response. It's out of my hands.

On that note, I crit-failed 2 small houses in a row today... oh lordy.

For not only this reason, I've decided to stop crafting things that require experimentation until they fix things. Yes, I realize this may never happen... it always seems to be 1 step forward and 6.02x10^23 steps back. From now on, I'm just going to make the subcomponents I will eventually need for a fabled "working experimentation sysytem" such as walls, generators, et al... I'll make housing... and furniture... and blah blah... but I've had enough of experimentation.

I play this game to relax... not to be pissed off with yet more incompetence and/or indifference.

That is all....

I build all harvesters from schematics now.. it's just not worth the risk trying to hand make them.

For the past two days, I have been CFing like a...well, let's just say I've been CFing at an extraordinary rate.

I just now CFed a structure factory. There are no words to express my frustration.

With all due respect, ArchAngel, you've been a great correspondent and I have no problem with you in the slightest, but if the devs are "looking into it" and not doing a single thing about it, I dont see any reason we shouldn't make sure that issues revolving around this incredibly irritating adn important issue remain at the top of the forum. This doesn't mean it's your fault...everyone knows you're trying to make these issues known to the devs and doing the best you can. But if, as you say, it's out of your hands, then I say by all means, everyone should post about this on the forums, and keep the threads at the top of the list. I don't like bumping something just for the sake of bumping it, but if someone has a valid reason for keeping a thread up there, then by all means they should add their own experiences to the list and by default, the thread(s) will stay at the top of the forum folder.

I am utterly furious that not only have I CFed several walls, untold numbers of structural modules, harvesters, generator turbines, etc., but now I have failed a monstrously resource-intensive factory. I don't have either the amount of resources it takes, nor the money to purchase them or maintain my harvesters, to make this kind of failure rate something I can just suck up without minding. This has me absolutely boiling mad. Two hours of work and nothing to show for it. Now I'm out the money, the resources, and without a structure factory that will be a struggle to keep going just because of the insane amount of time and effort it takes to run it anyway.

Tell me how I'm supposed to be having fun again?

There is no excuse for this issue to have continued for so long. No excuse at all. Large structures should NOT have the option of critical failure. I can't even believe this.

My constructive suggestion?

Hasn't been that bad for me, but I had no crits after the patch, then one on a heavy Friday, and another on a medium Sat AM.

Since then decent luck, but I still suspect something changed. (MA here)
