I came across this today when I tried to build a Naboo cantina and shuttleport. I can not get the schematic to accept the Storage Modules from a crate. I tried 4 different crates and even did a fresh run of them in my factory. Still a no go. This follows the same for any player city building that requires Identical Storage Modules. Is this a new bug or did I miss this on the forum somewhere. Thx.

i havent had any problem with it. the only time i did was right after the patch where they fixed it so you can click crates in to schematics prepatch crates didnt want to cooperate.

dunno what might be causeing your thing.
