While this has nothing to do with BER, it has to do with outpu hopper size. I find that when I don't experiment the factory owners have sent mails saying their factories only produce between 5 - 40 finished crates. When I experiment, they hold the 100 that they were intended to.


Sure it could be a coincidence, but better safe than sorry.

You are right. experimentation can more than double the size of the output hopper. I always experiment as it can make the difference between a hopper with 1500 units and a hopper with 3500 units (if memory serves me correctly).


The BER rating however, is complete stupidity. I am sure it is just a vestigial feature the devs have not been able to get to.

I have experimented on factories for hopper size and the numbers change to show 3k + items etc. But when I actually drop the factory and check the hopper size it is still 100 max. I have never seen this ever change whether I experimented or not.

BER? I've never gotten above 0. What's the thing extracting anyway???

Storage Capacity? My personal one has the lowest level, I don't seem to have a problem...

Yes, it always says 100 max. But it won't hold it. I've got an item factory that won't hold more than about eighty-odd items in the input hopper, which is weird; I've never seen that hopper affected by experimentation before.

I honestly believe that hopper size is affected by experimentation. All 3 of my factories hold 100 in each, I have tested un-experimented hoppers and they dont hold close to that.


I offer no proof besides my personal tests and results, but thats my 2 cents.

When you say that un-experimented hoppers dno't hold 100 items what do you mean?


There used to be a bug were factories would quit prematurely saying that it couldn't create a any more items when the output hopper wasn't full. But that was just a bug and has been fixed.


Every factory, experimented or not should hold 100 items in both the input and output hoppers. If it doesn't then it shoudl be /bugged.

I have never experimented on a factory and no one has complained about the input or output hoppers not working.


When did they fix that bug Pawlin? I would get it quite frequently, usually with the same factories. I usually would clean out the output hopper and things would go back to normal. I've heard some people had to redeed. I havnt been crafting enough to notice it lately though. It would nice if it actually got fixed lol.

I was not aware that this bug was fixed. It was about 6 weeks ago that I did my testing. A guildie said she was using a factory where the storage size was listed at 1500 or so (not experimented) Her other factory I made for her had the storage size of 3400+ (Experimented). That one held the full 100 items, while the other quit after only making 5 crates.


So if it's fixed, then my point is moot. But I will always experiment on them t be on the safe side. After all, the 10 seconds it takes isn't going to kill me
