Thread: Price Drops Due to Galaxy Vendor Search

I probably shouldn't post this.....

But I'm going to. Here are the worst examples of underselling on my server. Bear in mind that NONE of these are "single items" they are all multiples, at least 5-10 of each as of Sunday night, after a few days for people to go on a buying frenzy.

Small Houses (all types) 6.5k

Medium Houses (all types) 12k

Factories (literally dozens total) 20k

Paintings (Golden Petals 1) 510. Not 510k, but 510. Yes, I'm on the way to buy him out.

I'd previously seen a lot of heavy mineral harvs for 80k, and confirmed they were ber 13. Gone by tonight. There had beenseveralcheaply priced small houses (just odds & ends, not regular stock) with ridiculous amounts of upkeep in them; gone also.

Most annoying: items I'd placed for sale hours earlier were still not showing in the list. I am near impossible to find; Friday I didnt have an item show up until page 7. Now I show on the first page, with ONE item--and there's not seven pages of items total. Looks like about half what there used to be. My total sales over the weekend were nine small houses and a custom order for some candles.

Probably the worst offender on my server was Ockan. Three of the four prices listed above are his, and he's one of the few people that undersell me on Smalls. (Much to my surprise, I was on the low end at 9500--or at least I was by the time I looked.) Judging from the decrease in items listed for sale, I suspect Ockan did several million in business this weekend. Roga is another major player who appears to have had a lot of sales this weekend. Though his prices were not generally as abusive as Ockan's; he's done a major expansion around Bestine. To expand on that--I've noticed a huge population shift with a LOT of storage houses and harvester fields popping up in this area, which has remained pretty barren over the last year. They're not just Roga's; it looks to be several different crafters in various classes, based on the harvester names. I read this as the largest of the crafters preparing to dominate the market through volume sales and low pricing.I'd have been stockpiling to flood the market too, if I'd had the resources/money.

This is telling me I should have stuck to my guns and left my account canceled, but I let a friend talk me into re-subscribing for a month to see how the market shakes out. My projection is that I'll be out of business within a week to ten days, based on sales and harvester maintenance. I used to keep 2 weeks of maint in my harvs; I'm down to 5 days now and won't be able to maintain that for long. I've thrown a bunch of resources up for sale to stave off the end, but they had been for my expansion plans.

In short, I'm eating my capital to stay alive, and that's not a recepie for survival. Thanks for nothing SOE.

A contact on Naritus told me that the heavy harvester dropped to 50k. Is anyone seeing something similar to this on their server? And can anyone from Naritus give us a confirmation?

Anyone who claims Heavy Harvestors have dropped to 50k is smoking crack. The only heavy harvestors you will see for that price are ones with a sub standard BER. Personally, if I saw heavies for that price I would buy them all up and resell them for at least twice that. And you know what? They'd sell.

Any auctions I win I can pick up, or put them on a vendor for me and give me the location.

I made 1.4 mill running missions yesterday. So armpits to you SOE, I'll just keep stockpiling resources and when all the burnouts quit I'll still be charging my normal prices.

In the meantime, I'll actually get credits banked for a while instead of infusing them back into the economy with my purchases. Maybe I'll take up looting fulltime, or offer a professional MBH/Padawan Fight Club services, since you've decided that the nobleJedi Master is produced from emulating a Tyson chicken assembly line. I hope all the creativity you (SOE) have destroyed really make you get a warm fuzzy.

Yep, same here, I've been playing my combat character more. I won't be buying resources until things settle down. I think right now everyone is freaking (including myself lol). I'm compelled to just sit back and see what happens and not change a darn thing. I have been selling more furniture it seems, but only 5-10 more pieces a day than what I did before. Which, really doesnt mean too much lol.

Quite frankly, I have been afraid to check on the status of pricing. It was difficult enough to slog through the mess looking for resources. I cant imagine how long it would take for me to find the best price on a bit of furniture (especial;y with custome naming).

I am not planning to join th ground fight; if I want to roll some die, I can do that without paying 13 bucks a month. If things get bad, I will punch out. I have missed playing a bunch of cool games because of the time SGW took up. It may be time to reconsider how I spend my entertainment budget.

Anyway, a few more weeks will tell me all I need to know.

I think more than anything, your comments compel me to be more pissed. I've spent an incredible amount of time developing communities on this game and I already see the signs of losing a good amount of them to consignment of the undercutters.
Just once, I wish they would ask the people who play and enjoy the game as a pasttime what they want. Somehow I don't think it'll be the same thing as people that last maybe 2 game cards.

I already dropped my harvester prices to try and compete with the lower priced architects since location and having a stocked vendor don't matter anymore. Customer service still does though. Sold some houses and a cantina today.

Just submitted the following bug report to the discussion thread "In Live."

I expect it won't last long before going poof.

===================================================================

The biggest bug with this patch is that it still contains the hackneyed, P.O.S., gimptastic, buggy, SOE-lied-about, GWVL.

Merchants hate it for several reasons. (Except for the low-price, good-location, front-page merchants). Well, ok, Merchants hate it for one reason: not being any of the things I listed in parentheses. I guess we will all have to pile up around Cnet and bottom our prices out until we go broke.

I hate the bug where I'm being perma-listed at page 7 (highest so far), but mostly at page 9 or 11 (worst so far). Advantage to the people in the first few pages.

I hate the bug that permits me being undercut by sellers @ 20%. Not undercut BY 20%, undercut AT 20% Medium houses--several dozenat 12k, which is0.5825 cpu!!!!! My price was 55-60k, and that's already under 3 CPU. (Remember, to buy out an underseller, you have to have the capital.)

Buyers hate the bug where the same item repeats over and over and over again on many pages.

Buyers hatethe bugthat displays a random number of items, but only advances 100 at a time.

Buyers hatethe design bugmeaning they can't search for what they want.

Buyers and Merchants hate thefront-end bugs makingthe categorizationbeyond awful.

Merchants hatethe entire systembecause:

-- it was put in over our objections;

-- SOE duped everyone on the features it would have, and

-- it solves a real problem in REALLY STUPID WAY.

If you hate flying everywhere to search vendors, just concentrate the vendors--new rule: No structure can have a vendor in it unless it's in a player city. Voila!

Tell me Politicians wouldn't love that one.

The biggest bug in this game is the one between the ears of the people making the final decisons. And we've been reporting that one since Beta.

Brilliant, and it would solve the problem of the slums around Coronet and Theed too.

It's not an MMORPG anymore, just an ORPG. The only thing massive is the extent to which SOE screwed up and there's not going to be anyone left for multiplayer

Hi all! You might have seen me posting around lately, I'm not new to Galaxies by anymeans, I've just only recently taken an active interest in the boards, because well, I'd like to contribute and perhaps effect some changes that I'm sure we would all like to see. That being said, I only play one character, Shyran, on the Naritus server, and I just recently (within the last 5-10 minutes) browsed through the installation deeds galaxy wide, and no, unless a person was offering a whole mess of them and was subsequently bought out, heavies have not dropped to 50k. All around average, I'd have to guess off the top of my head would be about 110k. I did notice approximately 6-7 Heavies selling for 50k, however, when viewing details, they were all BER10. As far as the items I buy, I have not really seen a significant price drop, though I have found a few good loot deals because of it. Though that is not to say I don't have issues with the vendor search myself. Also I cannot honestly say I've noticed an increase in business, I've had a few visits lately but as to whether they were from searching on the bazaar, or the fact that they knew about our mall, I do not know. Anyway, I'm off to survey, take care everybody, I'll be floating around.

well i still charge my noraml fee as i have done since i started making arch stuff. i charge 120k per heavy and fusion, that were around an normal rpice on ahazi when i started to get knowledge on arch. so i priced it that. i have seen tons of cheap ber 13 harvys round. all from 80k-100k. but even so. i dont drop prices and even get an good sale on harvys now and then with my prices
